PLEASE HELP
I need help I am on a fixed income and I cannot afford to take my 3 yr old chihuahua (willie) to the vet or emergency room. He has not urinated nor has he had a bowel movement. I am trying to look for a home remedy for him. I came across this site and figured maybe someone can help, I have gone to other sites and came across one that said that having a dog in this condition would die within 24 to 48 hrs. I am willing to try anything at this point to help him I dont want to see him suffer no more but I also dont want to see him die. I have been giving him pedialyte to keep him hydrated I have also given him 1 tsp pumpkin he still couldnt go so than I gave him another tsp after 1 hour he threw it up. I have also given him 20cc of cranberry juice which he has kept down for the most part. I have been giving him pedialyte since this morning. Somebody Please Help Me I Dont want to see my Willie die.

So very sorry to hear about what is going on with Willie... If there is ANY way you can get him to an emergency vet clinic, despite your financial situation, I would do that. It might be possible that the clinic will work something out for you to pay over time. This type of health situation can be life threatening and hopefully the clinic will recognize this and give Willie the attention he needs in the moment. Sending heartfelt prayers out for you both...

Grammuh49, if this condition is an obstruction of some kind (did W perhaps swallow something?) it might be mandatary to go to Vet, but I would first try an enema using filtered water and Sea Salt. A few pinches in a fleet enema bottle w/ the warm water may help break something loose immediately, and go from there. Clay or charcoal by mouth would also help clear any possible poisons W might have ingested.

Try a very gentle massage of the entire abdomen area and note any pain from a certain area.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Recommend contacting your vet immediately as they may be able to work with you, but they will definitely be able to help Willie. Another suggestion would be to contact http://www.sanantonio.gov/animalcare/ to see what reduced/free services they can offer. Willie needs professional care quickly.

Have you tried _____s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar? Try this as it might help. Good luck. Sometimes you can just talk to the vet on the phone and explain them that you are broke and ask them what they think is his condition. Once you get some idea, THEN research natural remedies online. Also search PetAlive - www.nativeremedies.com

I am NOT associated with them but just LOVE their products. Good luck. I have 2 chi girls of my own and just love little chis...
