Regarding use of acv for dogs incontinence

Posted By Song (Orange County, Ca) on 12/09/2011

After reading all the posts regarding the use of ACV for urinary infection/incontincence on pets, I decided to try it. I gave my 11 yr old shih-tzu , 1 tsp with her food last night and I felt like it has gotten worst because the urine leak is the worst I've ever seen. Is this normal? I decided to try it again this morning, and again her urine leak is more than usual. Has anyone experience this?

My dog has been on other homeopatic medications from the vet, but it seems to not be working too. Any suggestions?

I have a 4 1/2 year old female chocolate lab, she developed urinary incontinence almost immediatley after being spayed at 6 months. We tried a couple chinese herbal remedies, but they didnt work. Finally after 6 months I put her on propalin. After years of constant ear infections, weight gain and low energy, I tried taking her off the propalin and all symptoms cleared up! I'll never have her on it again! However I am trying to find another solution to the dribbling, my vet is trying acupuncture, but too early to see results. I switched her to a homemade diet a year ago and she is doing very well, I like that I can tailor her food to what she needs, I avoid diuretic foods which increase urine. I will try the apple cider vinegar, and I'll look for corn silk. I'll re-post if I find something that works. I desperatley want to remedy this problem as our couch, carpet, her bed are ruined.

Re: Propalin or stilboestrol for incontinence. Our (spade at 2), redbone coonhound mix rescue also leaks when relaxed. We tried medication from the vet & a herbal substitute. Both made our very alert, active, girl totally hyper and crazy. It's been doggy diapers since then. We're going to try Apple Cider Vinegar and then corn silk.

hi song from orange county, my shih tzu leaked more with the organic apple cider vinegar in her water. i do give it to her in her food for her immune system as i have been doing so for all of them 7 years now. i just give them 1/2 teapoon no more than a teaspoon. and i give them organic pumpkin in their food 1/2 teaspoon for the digestive aid.

song try these remedies and for the leaking read what i use 75% and getting better. my dogs do not for the past 7 years have any vaccinations as it breaks down their immune system.

also read holly web page chinese herbs. i have research each and every webpage. wvwn on lymphoma which the vet couldn't tell me what was wron and i look up and goggled swollen lymph notes and he had this and i lost him within 2 weeks he was to far gone and stopped eating.

you have to be you dr and research yourself. some vets are all about money. i found a vet who is excellent still were i went for 15 years but he does holistic and chinese herbs.. go natural.

also sign up to dr. becker. com she is excellent and tells you never go to a vet if he insist to give you medication ask for a test to see if they need it. every animal is different. like a human you wouldn't have a flu shot without being tested, which is how i feel because it reacts different on everyone.. like an animal.

read on.. hope this will help you now and in the future.

i have 6 shih tzus now and shirley has a leaking problem. sorry i just read this. what helped her was a web page from paw healer.com they make up chinese herbs by a survey and i have used them for 5 years or more. they cured my laverne who had intervertible disc disease. you can go to the blog and see her picture and some of the other ones. she is in a leather chair read about it. in reference to shirley i thought the chinese herbs didn't help her leaking problem since last year and they made up formula because she also had a smell when peeing. the smell was gone very litlle leak. i tryed one formula but they had to re make for the pee smell. i stopped it and found out she leaked more.

also gary from naturalwonder pets emailed me with the problem and he is also holistic he just made a formula called number 1 for the bladder problem. i also use his web page for about 5 years. he sent me one bottle since i order from him and she sleeps like a baby now as she use to wine in the morning, she leaks less only 5 days. he said i can use this alone or also if i feel i need the chinese herbs from pawhealer can use them.

rigth now sammy daddy who will be 14 1/2 a shih tzu his cateracts got worse, i tried the chinese herbs but they only have in stock and once the cateracts are in a progress stage as i say it doesn't work. the ones they have are to use before they progress. took him to a eye specialist for dogs about 3-4 years ago and he said they could do an operation even now. but i researched and sometimes they have to go again or it can reoccur as in humans. and as they get older i'm afraid they could die under the operation as i have heard with any operation in older dogs. i'm using the herb liquid for the cataracts and he no longer walks into the glass door or barks for me. now he has been slipping when he walks and gets up since late last year.

i'm getting a chinese herb made up for him. i think he also has intervertable disc disease like laverne had. a combo for his joint you have to read about this article. you will be amazed. the msm is excellent, i stopped using it thinking he is better and he slips more. that is when you see the difference. you have to continue to use it. try it and stop and you can see the difference even if it is only 75%. not 100% beleive me i have tried everything. if you don't want to use it ever day ever other day but! it lubricated the joint and work fast.

yes for the joint condroitin and glucosomine helps and i wasn't giving sammy especially msm because the dr from the vet said he didn't need it well they do this was 5 years ago. you can give them the condroitin and glucosomine and use the msm liquid from naturalwonder pets. and can always use the chinese herbs with other herbs if you want. fill out the survey on any aliment and they reply and even call you. mark and holly

i also researched their background and they are 100% certified read about her... good luck to you all are the parents of fur babies.

health to all fur babies. best regards..terry
