My dog vomiting 4 times today

My 8 yr old dog has puked 4x today. She has never done more than 1... And rarely. I think she ate something at a friends yard when I wasnt looking. That was about 7p yesterday. She puked at 7a, , 5p... 530p.... 900... 10p. The 9 and 10 immed after eating. But I barely gave her anything knowing she may still be ill. Which she is. No problem with drinking water and energy level still strong.

What should I do?

This happened to my black lab. He was vomiting non-stop thru out the day. The vet could not diagnose this properly. Happened again one day on a Sunday. Had to take my dog to the Emergency Vet. That Vet was a Saint. She diagnosed my dog with PAIN. He has arthritis. She explained that the dog reached his threshold of pain. Stomach acid increases because of stress in the body. Too much stomach acid and the dog will vomit. I was advised to keep my dog on pain management. I did... And my dog has not vomited again. Mind you... This was going on several times thru out the year and each time my own vet couldn't figure this out. Asked me the same questions each time about what did he eat, etc. Never once got on the floor to examine my dog's spine or joints. But the Emergency Vet did.

I give my dog 2 buffered aspirin for his weight of 95 lbs. Walgreens Tri-buffered has worked best. I have a Natural Remedy Vet book that states 1/4 of a 325mg tablet for every 10 pounds of weight. Buffered aspirin is easier on their stomach. I give with food. I have checked his stool and have never seen bloody or black stool. He acts like a fun loving dog. NOTE: Aspirin is dangerous to cats.

Recently a friend of mine had the same problem with her older dog who has arthritis. Non-stop vomiting. I told her this same story. She too started her dog on pain management and the vomiting stopped.

My guess is excess stomach acid resulting from excess stress due to pain.
