How Much Apple Cider Vinegar Do I Put in My Dog's Water?

Posted By Kristi (Co) on 07/03/2015

I have a male 4 year old boxer last weighted around 100-110lbs that is killing our yard and has really bad skin allergies, we us a quart size (ice cream bucket) for his water everyday. How much Apple Cider Vinegar should I use for the water and for his food, or should I just do one or the other or both since sometimes he doesn't drink a full bucket of water everyday? Please help!

Make sure, first of all, that you're using organic Apple Cider Vinegar (the brand that begins with "Br"). You can add 1 tablespoon of the ACV mixed into his food each time you feed him OR you can add 2 tablepoons to his water.

You mention skin infections. Purchase a better-quality food: NO GRAIN, NO CORN, NO RICE! If he has bloody, oozing sores on his skin, YOU MUST TAKE HIM TO THE VET TO HEAL THESE SORES. Only AFTER the sores are healed can you spray his skin with a mixture of 1/2 distilled
water and 1/2 ACV. Get him soaked with this mixture, and let him air dry. This is a good preventative for allergies & fleas.

Keep adding the ACV to either his water or food, and get a better-quality food.
