Early Signs of Pyometra in Dog - How to Keep Appetite Up?

Posted By Wendy (Lake Leelanau, Mi) on 08/23/2017

My female border collie mix is nearing 12 years old, she is intact, with her heat cycle and might have early stages of pyometra, still spotting no sign of pus, but slightly watery. I took her to the vet but I don't have the ability to borrow enough for emergency surgery. I want to get her through this to get her fixed at a later date when she will be between cycles. I am using colloidal silver in her water, but I don't know how well it will get through her system, if it can work for her uterus. She had 2 degrees above normal fever, and her appetite is low. I was able to giver her some turmeric and fish oil in peanut butter flax and oatmeal and she ate that well but not much else. She is my angel from God and I am not ready to let her go. I will try the manuka honey and C too as soon as I can. Wondering if you have a good idea to keep her appetite up. She has never been sick a day in her life before this, she is normally healthy.
