Need Help with Dosages for Small Puppy with Parvo

Posted By Cristinalovesmax (Nashville, Tn) on 02/13/2016

Hi,

I have a 6 1/2 week old yorkie, shitzu, chihuahua pup (Max) who was diagnosed with parvo this Tuesday. He remained at the vet for two nights where they hooked him up to an iv and gave him antibiotics as well as nausea medicine. Initially when first diagnosed we were told that his treatment would be of three nights , however, on Thursday evening he was released by the vet because she said he had a lot of energy and had eaten food on his own. Upon arrival home, he did not eat anything or drink anything on his own. The next morning he refused to eat or drink anything (we tried giving him pedialyte along with soft foods) but he would not take it. We called the vet and they said it would be best to take him back so he could be hooked up with Iv again. They have sense told us that if he does not make progress there is not much that they can do for us and he will have to return home with medication. I have done much research and came across the activated charcoal option that many of you speak of. My question is how do you know how much dosage to purchase and also how much to mix with the pedialyte as well?? Also, when do you feed them the rice and chicken broth. Another question would be about nutrical and when and how much to give him. Any other suggestions that may aid in his recovery would be greatly appreciated. Prayers as well! Thank you

I would also try a teaspoon colloidal silver. I have used it on puppy with vomiting and cured it in about 3 hours. Give 3 times a day
