I have a 5 year old cat (Caesar), he recently started acting a little off, feeling sorry for himself and looking sad lying in places he doesn't normally in positions he doesn't normally sleep in, this lasted a few days. One morning I noticed he was breathing quiet shallow and he hadn't eaten much or left the house for a while, I took him to the vet and was told he has Heart Failure and Fluid in his lungs as well as a Heart Murmur. They have prescribed 1/4 of Furosemide twice a day for the rest of his life with the dose probably needing to go up. Furosemide can lead to Kidney Failure among other issues and I don't want to keep my cat on this long term.
I was hoping to find a herbal remedy for him, I have found different things that may work but was hoping someone may know more and give me a better idea of what we can give him so there won't be any side effects.
