Need Help for Shoulder Lump in Cat Which Appeared Overnight

17 yr old. Cat got egg size lump under skin & just over night . It's On one shoulder It's hard does hurt him to touch & still seem fine. After watching for 3 weeks it hasn't changed what is it . He is very hard to take to vet but I don't know what it could be . Any suggestions, thanks
