What can i do about my eyelid swellingPosted By Desi (Ny, US) on 11/19/2014
I have a problem for the past 2 years and no doctor knows what to do. Went to eye doctor, specialist, regular doctor, used eye drops, diuretics (Hydrochlorothiazide) that caused me photo toxic reaction and still no solution to the problem. Swelling comes and goes sometimes worse than others but always there mostly on the left eyelid. If it was water retention would it be on the left eyelid only? Legs, hands, ankles all are normal no swelling at all. I am taking Azor blood pressure medication and I am a female 45 yrs old 158 lbs and 5.8" tall.
Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you.

I would try poultices over the eyes. Chamomile flowers and Eyebright herb are both excellent for eye issues and safe to use in and around the eye.
You can get plain chamomile tea bags in a box in most grocery stores. Moisten the tea bags in warm water and place over eye for 15 minutes 3 times a day.
Or, if you can find eyebright herb, put a teaspoon of the herb in a mug, add very hot water to moisten and let sit until warm. Then put in a white paper towel or piece of white flannel and fold the edges so all of the herb is inside the cloth. Use this on the eyes as directed for chamomile.
A third option is charcoal poultices. But I would probably do that just overnight.
With any inflammation, my go-to is turmeric, taken internally. 1 teaspoon in some milk or yogurt twice a day. Or you can take 4 capsules twice a day.
Do you have any itching? I can remember in college that I would have eyelid swelling and itching that was caused by make up. I was given steroid cream but it was only temporary relief. I have not had the problem since I stopped wearing eye make up.
I hope one of these things will be helpful to you!
