Toxicity causing havoc in lifePosted By Debbie (West Bend, Wi, Usa) on 10/19/2012
That was the end of May and it is now mid-October. I am still on Larazapam along with two other antidepressents (Zoloft and Mirtazapine). I seemed to have more food intolerances with being on these drugs and I desparately would like to get off of them but don't know if my nausea symptoms and lack of swallowing will come back if I'm not on the Larazapam and Mirtazapine both of which help with nausea. My upper GI showed mild reflux while my lower GI CT scan showed a bunch of stool all in the intestines along with a spot in the liver. The Larazapam (aka Adivan) also helps with sleep. Any suggestions with getting off the Larazapam which is highly addicting? I have a protocal from my dr to reduce my 1 mg to .075, but I'm scared. I realize however that I have a very hypersensitive body and I'm going to need to make a move soon. Staying this way is the height of insanity. Any responses appreciated. Debbie

Next, it was learning about nutrition and eating whole, real food. Then, with the help of another friend and myself, we gave her simple, nutritious meals to make and she started out by cooking for her family 3x per week. She is now enjoying preparing the food and feels such satisfaction watching her kids and husband enjoy what she has created. I then asked her to talk to her Dr. about slowly reducing her medication to be completely off. Thankfully, her Dr. was cooperative and supportive and today she has been completely off for 5 months now. This past weekend she went to WF and bought superfoods she had heard me talk about and has been using them all week. She is ecstatic with how she feels. I see such a difference in her and am so proud of her.
Start little by little and don't overwhelm yourself. There is lots of support here on EC if you don't have it in your personal life although, if you have any friends that are nutritionally aware, perhaps they could help you. Remember, medication does not heal, it only masks the problem. You have to find the root of the symptoms. You are very acidic and toxic so begin by working on what you eat and then begin to detoxify. I wish you the very best and know you can do it! It will be well worth it... Lisa

TimH, I will do some reading but I'm afraid that my body is too sensitive to do cleanses. I'm really in a mess with all these pharmaceuticals that I can't seem to handle either. I could not even handle magnesium for constipation... Taking antibiotics for that long has done my digestive system in. I appreciate the support that you are giving me and I'm praying for the discipline I need to restore my health.
Lisa -- can you give me an example of simple meals... I'm not a good cook at all, nor do I have any appitite during the day. (the larazapam calms the stomach and I take that at night) I went down on my larazapam last night... Did not sleep well, and I'm very afraid that the nausea and lack of swallowing will come back because I am tapering down. I thought about getting accupuncture, but I don't know if my body will even handle that. I wish I didn't have such a fear of everything....
thank you all for your support.

As for simple recipes, I am going to give you a link of dishes that are simple and from the Body Ecology Diet which supports getting rid of candida and restoring the body's balance and health. We have made several of these recipes.

I don't know if you're a vegetarian or not but my advice to everyone is "Eat close to the earth. " Wishing you the very best. Lisa
