Supplements for Motor Tics, Fatigue and Exhaustion - Am I Taking Too Many?Posted By Michelle (Fresno, Ca) on 07/16/2020

You are thinking of taking 21 supplements and that will make it impossible to tell what is helping and what is not helping. Most people I have met would not be able to take 21 supplements faithfully, so compliance is likely to be a problem and yes it seems extreme, at least to me it does.
You have mag glycinate on your list so you are aware that magnesium can potentially help. It probably wouldn't hurt to have mag oil also to help boost local tissue levels in areas affected by these motor tics. Magnesium Taurate might also be as good or better than Mag Glycinate because it has shown the ability to cross the blood brain barrier and the taurate aspect of it can do the same. Both are inhibitors of the proinflammatory mediator IL-8 which would be a definite positive since inhibition of IL-8 will inhibit the downstream inflammatory cytokines in the inflammatory cascade.
Trying to add supplements to boost your energy level at the same time will likely cloud the overall picture and make it hard to determine what is helping
You don't say how much of each supplement you are taking.
Lastly, nowhere on your list do I see vitamin D, a vitamin that most people are insufficient or deficient in and has shown the ability to be useful for tic disorders as outlined in this study link.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

I know this is about taking 21 supplements but what about taking a multivitamin that has 70 things in it. I think I have one of those I take on occasion. I do have to say, you understand more than I do, I can spell a lot of words that my brain can't remember what they mean, overcoming scramble brain. I have battled that enough to be humble when mid~sentence I may have to say, sorry I forgot what I was saying, but by the Grace of God I go. Soy Lecithin and magtein help and love the coconut oil . The parts all seem to have gotten in a word here, so we are thinking about you today, thanks for your input! Blessings, charity
Thanks to you I am drinking borax instead of foot soaking it, I appreciate your insight when I can understand your deepness.

I have to say, you remind me of one of my sisters in terms of your way of thinking and relaying that thinking to others. Clearly you both are "very deep thinkers", but I, unfortunately, am not quite that deep of a thinker or have a different focus. It is interesting to hear different points of view and you and others definitely give that here on EC!!
Regarding the taking of many supplements at the same time, compliance is definitely an issue for the majority of people. Taking 21 pills or more everyday is easier said than done, especially if some of those pills require that you take them more than once a day. A single multivitamin is easy, one pill or possibly up to four a day depending on the manufacturer, that's still way easier than many pills per day.
The other issue from that post is the idea of trying to treat two or more health issues at once. That can get complicated!

I bet your sis is very sweet. I think life can shape us, sometimes into being what we are trying hard to resist becoming. Thanks for your reply, blessings, Charity

Yes, my sister is a very nice person who definitely has her unique ideas about life!
I think her influence as a nurse affected why I look at alternative health ideas as I do.
Life affects us all differently and I agree with you, it shapes us in ways that we may have never considered when we were younger. Growing up, I never thought I would be who I am today. It's a mystery that just slowly unravels with the passage of time.
I often times think that I wish I could see what is coming before it arrives, but then life would be pretty boring if we all knew exactly what is going to happen, so the mystery must remain in order for us to challenge ourselves to make a better life for ourselves and others.
You can try to do good for others or you can do something else. I think trying to do good for others is important in order to make the world a better place. History has shown us what happens when people choose to only do good for themselves or their clique and that point is clear in my mind!
