Suffered for four years with edema

Need remedy for Edema. I have suffered for 4 years. My hands, feet, ankles pretty bad. MD only prescribes meds that do not help, or provide temporary relief. I have seriously decreased my salt intake. I also believe my legs and arms are edemetous. Is there anyone who can help, this is annoying and embarrassing.

BTW, my thyroid has been checked and was normal.

Edema is usually caused by not having proper eliminations. Get on a good laxative - preferably with Fletchers Castoria (because of it being natural) - but any will do. At least one time a week give yourself a high enema - this is to help your colon clear out so that the toxins will not be reabsorbed into your system. You need to thoroughly masticate your food before swallowing it - that will help you with your digestion. After every meal you eat take a digestion enzyme. That will help your stomach with digestion also.

Another remedy that I tried to get my client to do - which he did not do - was to get the seeded purple grapes and crush them and apply this over the abdomen. Keep this on until the grapes have been well heated by your body. What you are trying to do with the grapes is get all the juices into your abdomen area - it is called a Grape Poultice and done in the exact same way as a Castor Oil pack - you can look that up on the Earth Clinic site.

Also you need to watch your diet. If you have a sweet tooth, then cut out all sugar and just have a little bit of honey when you are craving sugar. And when you drink milk, put the malted milk into it. I did this and it changed a lot for me. I put malted milk into my Almond milk and it tastes great!! A lot of people can't digest milk properly, and the malted milk helps your stomach to digest it better. The diet should be more towards a South Beach diet or the Atkins diet.

I hope this helps you - I have suffered from this off an on and every time I get back on this was of eating and digesting I get better! I also rub my legs with peanut oil and olive oil 50/50 mixture - but I have been doing this for arthritis prevention for 20 years. So you can add that also -it sure won't hurt! A lot of times we are not properly combining our foods - that tends to lead to all the problems with edema among a lot of other problems as well. Here is a link for a good chart -www.docstoc.com/docs/41385573/Food-Combining-Chart

Hope this helps you as it has helped me!

Brooke, I appreciate this advice... I have tried so many things... I will try to digestive enzymes, and keeping the GI tract clean and healthy as you suggest. I will post my results after a couple of weeks.

Hi, as a followup, I have been keeping the colon clean, using probiotics, fish oil etc. My results continue to fluctuate. But all in all, having my GI tract cleaner is awesome.
