Researching alzheimers and people little info

Posted By Robert Henry (Ten Mile, Tn Usa ) on 12/28/2011

I am researching Alzheimers and people there is very little imformation on this site. Am I the only old codger here? If you a youngun then you will be here pretty soon. The traditional medical folks have nothing to offer. I have been at this for about a year, and here's what I have come up with: B 12, Folic Acid, Virgin Coconut Oil and Acetyl -L- Carnitine, and Gluthionine. Dang, that's it. 'Course the typical crap... Like work puzzles. That's BS. This is a physical thing happening to your brain. It all goes back to what you are exposed to, either nutrionally or enviromentally.

Can any of you shed any light on this? This site covers the world so if we put our experiences togeather it will be more potant than any medical group. Let's do it. I believe that Alzheimers is caused by a natural thing and we can solve it by putting our collective minds togeather. Whatever story you got, spit it out. It will cause someone to think of their experience. We may not can solve this, but we can damn sure put a dent in it.

I want to cry when I think of Pat Summit, the coach of the Lady Vols. She is doomed because the people around her don't want her exposed to natural healing. The only answer the medical folks have is HGH and that's outlawed. It works.

Excuse my rant =====ROBERT HENRY=====

Robert, I would also research niacin and alpha lipoic acid

A lot of the treatments being given to autistic kids would apply to alzheimers, that is chelating the body of heavy metals and detoxing the body. Many of these kids had no speech and could not communicate. After detoxing their body of toxins, they came back. Worth looking at anyway. We live in a toxic world.

Don't forget smoking, since the "powers that be" have decided that smoking is a dirty dangerous pastime and have started to tax it out of existence.. The Obesity rate has rocketed and doctors don't tell you to start smoking if you get Alzheimers, as it was the only thing that stopped or delayed its onset. So what's the pay back for the anti smoking lobby? Is there more money for big Pharma with a chronically obese population?..

Nationally anti smoking hasn't done one iota for the general health of the population, now we have the diseases of obesity to deal with, plus the fact that most people who get lung cancer don't smoke anyway.

I spent the morning reading it and am only half way done. All old folks should read this before it is too late. The young ones can dodge bullets and jump tall building so they will not heed his findings. Their time is coming. Thanks to all for the tremendous response. =====ROBERT HENRY==========

Robert Henry have you investigated aspartame and MSG being a cause of alzheimers? I just read some of the section on this site on Aspartame and its use can cause alzheimer symptoms. There are now 30 year old people with alzheimers.

Many foods have hidden aspartame and MSG in them.

hi! I visited the website for the water cure and took some time to read articles. Can't buy the book, but really got the main jist of things reading what I could!

The Doctor basically says that your brain is in a water drought and that's the cause of alzheimers, because of the lack of water, your brain cells start to shrink and become prune like.

It's suggested that if you drink half your weight in ounces of water a day; that's sufficient to keep your cells hydrated. He also states that if you add sea salt to your diet will give you much needed minerals. he states that your body like our earth is a majority of saline water and nothing on this planet could exist with out it! Your brain, eyes, every living cell in your body, skin, digestion.

This system not only keeps alzheimers away, it keeps cancer, ulcers among many illnesses he researced. He claims that in medical school they do not teach such things! He came upon this research during a political imprisonment. He later on went to learn that our brain produces histamine and histamine is the water regulator of our body when there is a drought signals go off and send pain to the area in most need of water. Now the big pharma companies introduced anti-histamine to block the signals thus taking the pain away, the very signal that is indicating your thirsty!

NOW he says that the brain has first priority to water and everything else follows, so that means if having alzheimers is really a water drought occurring then imagine what the rest of your body is going through! Thick blood, lack of eyesight so on and so forth.

He also indicates that our bones are made up of calcium, magnesium and salt, our cells need saline water as well and when the body lacks this solution it pulls salt from male prostates thus making them have issues!

All I know is that slowly but surely I have tried to follow with my fellow earthclinicers into a healthier life. I admit I don't exercise, but that soon will get introduced. I have replaced my pepsi with water a little over a year now and since going to the water cure websites, I no longer babysit my water. To all of you whom posted that site- thanks!

If I might add, the amino acid Taurine is also recommended for Alzheimer or any brain disorder as it is an effective antioxidant to that area; T also helps the body regulate & utilize minerals and thus boosting the power of water in the body.

Robert Henry, Pat's been needing a retirement from B ball for a good while now and she can do so comfortably IF she does anything bout that alz thing other than conventional watered down facts, skewed studies, and worthless treatments. Proly not, and if bad goes to worse, she'll be another poster-person for the continuation of diseases like Michael J. Fox; going about indulging and exaggerating his condition that "has no cure". She has the potential to lead literally thousands of otherwise healthy folks into an early Alzheimers.

Don't forget (pun intended) Lecithin w/ its powerful Choline & Phosphatidylcholine (Dr. Murray recommends NOT using the Cholines at the same time as Acetyl L-Carnitine as they compete against each other). Sam-e as well as DMG & TMG. Put the overlooked amino Taurine on the list. And also put the overlooked Glandular Therapy on the list w/ Raw Bovine Brain Tissue. Also Magnet Therapy is good for the entire body.

I notice that Gavin has tried to say a couple of times here that cigarettes would help. However the threat of catching something on fire by giving a cigarette and lighter to an Alzheimer patient would not make cigarette smoking a good idea. I want to say that Gavin is correct, absolutely, that nicotine can be helpful for this illness. This has been studied for quite a while, and I can provide a link for an example. It will be hard to read for many, as it is in research and scientific jargon, and describes each step of experiments with animals, including rats. The potential for using nicotine for several illnesses where there has been a "slowing down" of brain function is discussed in clear enough terms, knowing that nAChR is nicotine receptor site in brain cells, and CNR is central nervous system. It does state IMO my interpretation, that they need to come up with "new" nicotine drugs, simply because medical science would be too embarrassed to simply use what is already available after all the extreme negativism regarding nicotine already "out there. " I see this as shameful delay just to save face, when there are persons who need this help now. I would strongly suggest you attempt to read, or have a sympathetic and not brainwashed rabidly anti-nicotine scientist friend (if there are any others like me left) to read and interpret this for you. You will want to buy a nicotine patch for your loved one to assist his/her brain with more clarity. The link is from 2000, so as soon as the PTB make all smokers die or quit, or throw them in jail and cigarettes and patches no longer available, you will see brand new "medicines" for Alzheimers, Parkinson's, Tourettes,
ADD, schitzophrenia, and other diseases which meds are basically just nicotine gum or patch repackaged and much more expensive... Or perhaps they will really make something else from cotenine or nicotine, and call it "safer" while failing to eliminate newer horrid side effects much worse than what is already extant today. If you are brainwashed to be anti nicotine so much that you won't even try this, you need to think more about the money Big Pharma stands to make by coming out with great "new therapies" for each of all these illnesses. What does your loved one have to lose from a nicotine patch at this point, when some level of clarity and memory might be gained?
I hope this helps someone out there.

Thanks for the balanced view on nicotine for Alzhiemers.. In reality its Vit B3.. Smoking puts it directly into the blood stream. As some people cant metabolise it in the normal way.. The Coconut oil is another sword in the armory for this brain disease as well. With regards to the PTB. Getting down on smoking, we are now seeing that the fruits of the ban can be seen in the growing Obesity epidemic.. And probably B3 deficiency which apes Schizoprhenia. So all in all we are worse off than before the ban started.

On a slightly different tack, it occured to me that a great deal of disease, strangely enough responds to natural cleaning compounds? Sodium bicarb, Vinegar, lemon juice, and Hydrogen peroxide. Can it be that a lot of disease is caused by cells getting clogged up at the molecular level, and the stuff thats doing the clogging when removed by one of these naturals starts to perform like they were programed to do. As a practicle example my right ear has been virtually deaf for years it seems to crackle back a bit and then go deaf again. Two weeks ago since the weather has been getting warmer I thought id try an old fashioned lemonade recipe, I subsituted the sugar for a third of a cup of honey.. I've been swigging on this concoction for about a week and feel realy good, and the ear has virtually come back to full use. Since it is the only thing I've changed in the regime, it must be prolonged use of lemon juice.. my eyes are clearer and seem to focus better as well.

For anyone interested Its a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.. A third of a cup of honey gently heated in a cup of water in the saucepan, stir this in the lemon juice when disolved, then add five cups of water and drink chilled... Ive added a bit of root ginger and at night I put a capfull of ACV.. In it, which dosn't alter the taste one bit. It tastes nice as well which is a bonus as a lot of the good stuff can be a bit challenging to get down.

Hi Mmsg, I have been wondering this too. Have found it mentioned a few times but without any references. The following is from: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=83

The names "niacin, " "nicotinic acid, " and "nicotinamide" are all derived from research studies on tobacco in the early 1930's. At that time, the first laboratory isolation of vitamin B3 occurred following work on the chemical nicotine that had been obtained from tobacco leaves.

Hi Gavin, I think that you are forgetting some important points about smoking, here! You think that things are worse now than when the ban started? I can tell you a different story! My husband and I don't smoke, never have and have always suffered when we had to share restaurants with smokers. When the partial ban came into action restaurants started to ban non-smoker to little back rooms and we suffered again. All the best places were taken by smokers. Once we were even sent to a very small kind of corridor where non-smokers had to wait for their turn in order to be able to eat, all the rest was reserved to smokers. When the full ban finally started working we felt like valued costumers again, not part of the banned people (and mind, you, we were the ones who weren't doing anything wrong! ). We still have the problem of sitting comfortably on a terrace outside when there is no wind to blow all the smoke away or the wind blows it in the direction of our table! So.... Things are better now people can't smoke inside anymore! Near where we live now there is a hotel with a very nice lounge/bar, often with live music but.... That is reserved for smokers and as it is not big no way we can sit there. We have to sit in the reception of the hotel! Again, as non-smokers we lose out!

As far as nicotine helping Alzheimer's patients.... There must be a better way, surely? And your lemonade, aren't you adding the orange juice anymore? I have been making it with one orange, half a lemon, a bit of Manuka Honey and a tspoon of ACV. What do you think? It tasted a lot better than orange juice alone as oranges nowadays don't have much taste anymore! I don't add any water! And I also added a little bit of olive oil because it helps to absorve the beta-carotene (I suppose oranges have that too?).

Hi francisca.. I did some research on oranges and they have been getting sweeter as the sugar content has been rising untill they contain about an eigth of the vitamin C they did a few years ago.. So I dropped them and substituted the lemon, which still is fairly original, with all its original stuff.. I suppose grapefruit would be good as well since its a cross between an orange and a lemon. But as you say to make it pallatable , it has to be taken with a sweetener and diluted or it will disolve tooth enamel just like ACV. So honey is best option as it leaves an alkaline ash.

With regards to my ear!! It seemed to flair back into life with the ACV when I started but just seem to go dead again.. But with the lemon juice its coming back nicely and staying functional, Ive just started juicing carrots again, I think its the constancy of taking these things which has to be maintained. With regards to Lemon juice taken on a constant basis, its well worth a google, as it drops BP. Strengthens the heart, etc and drops the risk of stroke amazingly... Hillary stated after climbing Everest he couldn't have done it without the lemon which stoped internal bleeding and Odema at those altitudes.

As far as smoking goes, I can't see any problem with moderation with a natural product. Anyway the subject has got so political, with dishonesty spouted on both sides of the argument, I suppose time will tell.

No I just squeezed the lemons, and gently swished the honey in a cupfull of water warmed in a pan untill it disolved... Definiatly not too hot as it would denature the product, I didnt add baking soda, just some ginger which gave it a nice zing. And a capfull of ACV, into the nightime half a glass. But you could play around with it, its nice to drink. I would guess if someone wanted to lose weight, its great as you don't feel hungry after a swig.

I don't believe it is a naturally occurring nutrient; it is an intermediary metabolized from Choline and it manufactures phosphatidylcholine.

Hi Mmsg, Liver and Brains both contain Citicoline and now interestingly both are not eaten by most people. It is also converted in our bodies from choline. Lecithin contains choline, egg yolks being a good source of lecithin. I found it hard to find info on food sources of Citicoline as most of the places are also selling the product. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/745068

Early in the 80's Lecithin/Choline was being talked about for its benefits in Alzheimer's and Dementia, there were even studies being done. Apparently most showed no real results although some people showed slight improvements but then the 2 studies I heard of were for about 12 weeks. This seems a short time to see real results for these conditions!

Francesca, regarding tobacco use, there may be other ways to use the leaves of this herb than to smoke them. Unfortunately, because of extremism of anti smoking campaigns, tobacco and the nicotine (also cotenine) it contains are not included much in herbal medicines anymore. Tobacco poultices for example used to be recommended for several uses, but rarely are noted in herbal medicine anymore, now that "tobacco is the devil" attitude prevails. If an Alzheimer patient (or anyone else for that matter) wears a patch, how will that harm your enjoyment of restaurants? It is a crying shame that an herb known since ancient times is now considered anathema (note the religious word here) to so many herbalists.

Soon as I stated above, you will only be able to get this herb in any form from a pharmaceutical company, since even natural herbalist manufacturers and stores jumped so quick on the anti-nicotine bandwagon they do not have/make natural tobacco based remedies. Folks need to clear out some propaganda and think clearly: tobacco/nicotine/cotenine is not evil. Abuse and misuse of any natural material is!

Someone asked if niacin and nicotine are the same. No, but it may be said that they are both made into very similar, if not identical nicotinic acid in vitro. There are receptors on brain cells that take this up, in fact they are specific for this nicotinic acid, and are called nicotine receptors. This uptake helps regulate brain chemicals. It seems that whether this comes from niacin tablets or tobacco makes no difference to the receptors, for our bodies seem to be able to break down both to a nicotinic acid product that the brain cells need to perform essential work. That said, some people cannot properly absorb B vitamins from the gut, and most will experience side effects from niacins that are, to me, evidence that the body is having trouble with this method of intake. Severe flushing, heat, rash... These are symptoms of poisoning... Remember that not every poison is fatal. I have not read evidence of fatal niacin poisoning because I just haven't looked, but I would bet it exists, so look that up and see.

Basically, extremism due to improper USE of an herb has left those preferring natural cures extremely antagonistic to that herb. (Do a brain cleanse, and think this through! Tobacco plants are not evil, they are herbs. )

Big Pharma fully intends to profit from it.

I think that you are right, Fred and tobacco should be studied if there are chances that it can help people's health. And no, I was not saying that is an Alzheimer's patient uses it as a poultice it would bother me, what I meant is when people are smoking in restaurants and public places! Gavin, I think it was, was talking about the smoking ban! I am not against using tobacco for anything else or even telling people not to smoke although I am deeply sad that my daughter and son-in-law smoke, actually two of my daughters. What I am against is that I have to put up with other people's smoke(which they actually never do!).

Thanks for your very interesting explanation and yes, Big Pharma will always find a way to make a profit!

For those who wish to believe that niacin is great while nicotine is evil: niacin was discovered from studies of nicotine in tobacco in the 1800's. Niacin was created from tobacco herb, by using acid on nicotine. Niacin was found to cure pellagra, in many people. Again Some persons cannot absorb B vitamins from the gut. There are drops used under the tongue, so that B can be absorbed via mucous membranes (mouth skin. )

People who smoke, dip, chew tobacco are absorbing nicotine the same way, and once inside, the body acids create the same finished product, to fit the receptors specific for this on the brain cells. (But many become addicted, and use too much, and are also subjected to the disease causing chemicals used in manufacture. As well, those who smoke too much are getting tar and by products of smoke inhalation. )This leads one to wonder if this addiction is partly so strong because a body has found a ready source of the chemical needed for production for those receptors. Likely it is also a strong addiction to other chemicals put in during manufacture. Again, it isn't either one or the other, but several.

Perhaps hard core smokers really can't quit partly because they can't absorb b vitamins from their guts? (Those who claim to be former hard core smokers who quit and feel better may have been addicted to by products of manufacture and well able to absorb B's from foods, while those who still haven't quit may be unable to absorb B's. ) We can't say, because Smokers are considered devils who need to quit or die and are not sick with a disease that requires research: They should all be shamed instead. Many may want to argue this, but I did not say this is the case, but merely that we do not know. And that we don't know because we (our culture) have chosen not to find out, but rather to create a witch hunt type hysteria regarding smokers. Now people who do not smoke, but use a nicotine patch(which hurts no one else in any way) cannot get jobs and are stigmatized and harmed.

As soon as Big Pharma gets all its new meds ready, and some way for government to recoup major profits that will be lost from tax on tobacco, a miracle cure will finally be found for smoking addiction... Wait and see. In all honesty, I can see that tobacco, the natural herb, has been made a victim. So have those who smoke, dip, ect. and so have all the people who might have been helped from appropriate uses of the herb.

Btw, I briefly looked for niacin poisoning on the web. Yep it's there. Gov. Bev Perdue recently announced a new tobacco-like crop will be grown in NC. Whatcha wanna bet, it will be used to make new miracle-treatments for those same diseases I talked about above. Whatcha wanna bet it's a tobacco engineered by science so it can be called by another name?
