Any Natural Remedies That Can Help an LCL Injury?

Lateral collateral ligament

Hello, I was wondering if anybody knows anything about the above ligament.

I hurt my left knee about five years ago whilst shifting some furniture. I have tried various home remedies over the years including apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, serrapeptase, knee brace with magnets with no improvement.

The problem is intermittent. Most of the time my knee is absolutely fine and then out of the blue it suddenly gives way accompanied by a searing pain in my knee that makes me shout out in pain. The searing pain lasts just a few seconds and then is replaced by a pain in my leg next to the bottom left of my knee. This pain feels like a really bad painful bruise. I am then left in pain, limping around until it eventually rights itself. (This can last anything from 2 minutes to 24 hours).

I have self diagnosed by looking on Google at a picture of the inside of the knee. I assume I must have a partial tear to this ligament rather than a complete tear.

I'm thinking now that after all these years the ligament is not going to heal itself. Is surgery the only option left now?

Many thanks.

I have a torn meniscus and what has helped immensely is using the equipment at my gym at a light weight (so as not to further deteroriate the meniscus). A friend of mine told me he had been doing this for years to treat a torn meniscus in each knee and had prevented surgery this way.

I use the seated leg press but instead of both legs, extend just one leg at a time at a low weight. (Caution: I have heard of people blowing out their backs pressing too much weight). I also use the seated leg extension for hammer strength one leg at a time. I proceed with caution and never add more weight than I can handle. But because of my increased leg strength, my knee rarely feels inflammed any more and rarely torques. I also walk daily. For me fitness and strength is key. Good luck. Sounds painful.

PIP: For minor to moderate injury of any kind, Magnet Therapy will usually work only if the M is strong enough. The Knee Brace Magnet would work best overnight during sleep as this is when healing occurs, but do find yourself a stronger M to apply for maybe an hr per day.

Also try a warm washcloth soaked in equal parts Epsom Salt & Borax. I have good results with SalonPas medicated patches, so also give them a try.

After a few wks of the above treatment take MSM/Glucosamine/Chondroiten supplement and you should be doing well again "fore-to-long".
