I also have a blood disease, plus deterioration of the bone and tissue, the neurosurgeon suggested I have back/neck surgery, the surgery was ok but I later found that the surgery was not needed. If I were you, I would put a hold on this Dr. and check on a real good neurosurgeon but again think twice about any surgery. It will never help the pain. It was suggested that I focus my mind totally on some other interesting things in life eventually you stop thinking so much about the pain. Also if you have deterioration of the bone I don't think it helps any. Once our bodies are opened to air these air born diseases seep in and make matters worse. Like I said you will always have pain. I do web searches, write in search engine what ever info. your Dr.gives you on paper and study it constantly. Ask many questions in this forum. Don't rush into any thing to soon. Good Luck.Replied by Rsw (Uniontown, Oh) on 10/31/2014
Diamond,
It sounds like you are dealing with hyperparathyroidism, due to your symptoms and parathyroid number. Here is a site that will answer EVERY question you may have on this subject. I recently researched it due to a high serum calcium number, and found it to be excellent. Best wishes.
Here is the Parathyroid site:

Enefaa,
Please read my response to Diamond regarding hyperparathyroid disease. The link is www.parathyroid.com to find the answers you need and the treatment that is required. The only time that the parathyroid glands put out hormones in the increased numbers you describe, is when one or two of them have a small tumor, which is in all liklihood NOT cancerous. However, it must be removed to correct the many systems in the body that this effects. Once removed, you will be fine, but will probably need to supplement some form of calcium to replace what has been lost by your bones. The doctors in Florida are the best in the world, and I don't know if they could help you if you called them to explain your situation, but it might be worth a try. Take care and let us know how you are doing.
