Remedies Desperately Needed for Cold Intolerance

Posted By Emma (Sweden) on 02/20/2017

Dear people,

I have a huge problem every time I feel a cold draft (it doesn't even have to be so cold, just colder than the current temperature! ). My head starts hurting, my ears, my eyebrows and behind my eyes. Sometimes headache stops in a few minutes, sometimes it is on for a whole day. In Sweden its cold, windy but outside I at least can wear a hat. Inside, we have AC system blowing in COLD air even when its cold outside (yeah, I know, not too smart people up here! ). I live in a small town and people stare at me like I am some kind of freak if I have a hat on, and if I dont I basically have to run out because I get such a headache, become dizzy and feel like throwing up. I obviously cannot change the whole world, but this makes me fear of going out. The pain is almost paralyzing and once it goes away I fear the next onset, trying to avoid and and isolate myself, have hard time going new places and when I sit somewhere for a coffee I change tables several time so I would get minimal exposure to the AC while I'm sitting there. Even at home I suffer if there is a draft from windows, and, get this - I feel even the draft coming from the key hole! Somedays I get better within minutes, but some other days headache stick for a day and then I am stuck in my bed. It is enough with 10 seconds in draft/AC to get too sick to even function. Have seen some sites where other people also have a similiar problem, but their solution is basically pain killers, and I can not see myself popping pills each day.

PLEASE HELP!

@Emma in Sweden: I have to ask: why do you have your AC (Air Conditioner) running when it's cold outside? You should have the heat on. If the heat is not working, get someone to fix the unit. Also, read through this EarthClinic link for remedies for feeling cold. You may very well have some nutritional deficiencies. Blackstrap Molasses & cayenne pepper can be helpful. Read through the link and search this site for recipes.

Hello Emma,

I've had cold intolerance issues also as has a relative. I think for two different reasons.

I notice mine worsen if I've had too much sugar; so mine might be related to metabolism issues. If I diet with no or little sugar for a few days, I can tell the cold air does not effect me as much. In the case of my relative, I think hers is related to an infection that got into her ear and ran through the auditory nerve into the brain. I've heard of many folks who get sensations like you describe so I just wonder if those folks who have a severe set of symptoms might not trace it to a bad infection or a series of infections in sinus and/or ear. If so and if me, I'd be taking compresses of anti viral applications of colloidal silver mixed with DMSO and apply to back of neck a few times a week to see if infection might be eliminated. DMSO is a solvent and carrier and a good place to see it demonstrated is "youtube 6o minutes DMSO Dr. Jacobs"... a great site to understand the effectiveness of DMSO. DMSO can sting when applied topically so I'd dilute with colloidal silver or distilled water. (Maybe a quarter cup of CS and a tablespoon of DMSO.) The DMSO might be effective even if CS is not available.

Thyroid problems, specifically hypothyroid could be an issue. If so, can easily be remedied by supplementing Iodine and Selenium. Coconut Oil is also beneficial to the Thyroid. If circulation is an issue, Cayenne Pepper (as Wendy suggest) & Ginger Root in food or as capsules will help.

I do not have an AC unit, it never gets really warm here so nobody has an AC here. The automatic ventilation I have closed off too, so thats not the problem (if somebody is sensitive to cold, why in hell would they have the AC on cold at home??! ) . I already take blackstrap molasses, and cayenne is too rough on my stomach, but will sure thy all the suggestions. Thank you all!
