Remedies causing more pain to rheumatoid arthritis

Posted By Len (Houston, Tx, Usa) on 12/29/2011

Hello, I was diagnosed with RA back in 2003 adn with Lupus back in 2008. The Lupus has always been "inactive" but the Ra since 2008 has been showing up. During the past year it seems things have gone downhill. I have taken Plaquenil, methotrexate, adn prednisone, none of it works now. The prednisone simply takes the edge away but the pain is always there.

I started doing the Gerson therapy at home since Nov. 28, 2011 and so far I am worse off than I have ever been in my life. I am extremely discouraged and honestly I can't even think straight because of the constant pain and I'm a bit delirious since I can't sleep at night form the pain.

I have been reading this site and I'm even more confused, there is great advice but so much of it. I worry that I might take something that counteracts with something else. I am currently juicing and also taking 10mg of Vitamin C, 20,000mg of Vitamin D, Niacin, Potassium, omegas, kelp, I was doing the enemas at least 2 times a day but I have stopped as I am convinced the enemas is what triggered this pain. I have never been able to tolerate caffeine, after 30 minutes of drinking caffeine I will begin hurting so I've always just stayed away from it.

I don't want to hurt myself anymore, has anyone been through similar situation that could give some advice, PLEASE? I will do anything for this pain to go away, I'm only 31 and I have 2 children and a husband that need me. I have no energy at all and I can't imagine why since I'm finally eating healthy and taking so many vitamins. How do I get rid of this disease, the joint pain and the fatigue? Thank you.

Perhaps a plant-based diet would help you. There's lots of inspiration on the internet including the FOK diet.

Wishing you well!

Len, prednisone is not good for long term use or for your immune system. I would steer clear of that. You may want to research that.

For your arthritis, you may want to start supplementing with magnesium as arthritis is usually a magnesium deficiency. Have you checked the ailments section on this website or remedies?

To Len, I feel your pain. I have psoriatic arthritis and have been trying to heal naturally for a year and have been in pain ever since. Sticking to a restictive diet every day all day is impossible. But I do have a question to anyone out there. I have been seeing a 9sports therapist who is working on my back and neck area and the pain is just getting worse and worse. How long will these toxins be released into the bloodstream if that is whats happening? Also are there any supplements that actual work for pain? I feel like I threw my money in the garbage on expensive supps. that don't work. Thanks

Have you tried Boron? Google "Boron and Arthritis". It is super CHEAP. Four to Five dollars will buy you a 3-6 month supply. It only works for certain kinds of arthritis from what some say.... But it totally worked for me and my aching hands. (50 year old woman).

It can't hurt... And may help, so why not?

Best,

Carly :)

I agree with Debbie of Melbourne - Prednisone is TERRIBLE to take long term. It basically shuts down your immune system.

My husband did this for about a month or so, and we found out how terrible it is when he quit taking it.

Be aware: Stopping it suddenly can KILL YOU. You have to taper off SLOWLY and per a doctors orders.

Seems to me that anything that can KILL YOU by quitting, taking it is SERIOUSLY MESSED UP.

Good luck, and magnesium is ALWAYS a good thing... along with Boron, CA, about 10,000 IU of Vitamin D a day....

Carly :-)

Brad, Magnesium will work for pain and is a cause of arthritis. The best and quickest way to get it into your body is transdermally (via the skin) with baths.. Magnesium chloride flakes in the bath or Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate). You can even rub magnesium oil onto the skin (50/50 magnesium chloride and water). A good website is magnesiumforlife.com. Swimming in sea water is also good as it is basically concentrated magnesium. Even putting some magnesium chloride crystals in a foot bath is good for you (about 20 mins). Some therapists will massage magnesium oil into the skin.

Check out this website: www.roadback.org which discusses the antibiotic protocal (AP) for rheumatoid arthritis. Many have found success.

Good luck. I am very sorry that you are in such pain. With young children, I can't imagine how you do it.

I do believe that the cure for arthritis is Borax:- a pinch in water, morning and evening. Don't ask a pharmacist, they will more than likely tell you that borax is poison. Borax is as dangerous as table salt, and that is good for you!

Incidentally, borax was commonly used in clothes washing and no doubt was absorbed into the body via the skin. Usually available from the grocers, in the laundry section.

Hello Everyone. Rheumatoid Arthritis has been known to Ayurveda since thousands of years back. Its treatment is already there in Ayurveda. Ayurvedic treatment coupled with Pranayam is a very potent combination to remove almost all physical problems including chronic ones like Diabetes and RA. Millions of chronic patients have benefited from this.

However important thing to keep in mind is that you consult a genuine Ayurvedic professional, take genuine herbs and do proper pranayam.

Following Link may help:-

http://www.divyayoga.com/component/kunena/10-ask-vaidya/778-rheumatoid-arthritis.html

Few Basic things :-

1) RA is a "Vata" disorder caused due to antibodies formed in Body due to improper digestion. Such antibodies are called as Aam Vaat in ayurveda

2) In case patients digestive power is weaker, Aamvaat is not poperly digested into system and remains in blood and is deposited on linings of intestine, joints, lungs, hearts, kidneys etc. Aamvaat causes swelling which if existing for prolong time causes pain and damage.

3) Need calibrated food intake by knowing which food items are likely to reduce vata. Plus the medication includes a) Detoxifying blood and joints by removing Aama b) Digesting Ama by increasing "jatharagni" or digestive fire by means of powerful hebs and C) Preventing further formation of Ama

4) Whole things coupled with ancient vedic breathing excercise (pranayam) gives manifold returns.
