Need Help for Sensitive and Irritated Red Scalp - Do Not Have Dandruff

Posted By Daniel (US) on 02/23/2022

Hello,

I have a very sensitive scalp which is red to look at, easily irritated to touch and flaky but it doesn't itch and I don't have dandruff. I don't know if it's food allergies or toxins in the scalp. Is there any way I can detox it of chemicals etc directly through supplements, teas or topical things? I've tried every shampoo and none work. Thanks, Daniel

Calcium bentonite clay is great for pulling toxins out of the skin. Perhaps you're allergic to a common ingredient in shampoos. If it were me, I would stop using all commercial hair products, including shampoos and conditioners. I would make a liquidy/ watery paste (not too thick) and allow it to sit on my scalp for 30 minutes or so. Install a chlorine filter on your shower head. Chlorine can irritate the scalp. Rinse gently. Maybe try a final rinse with an herbal tea that's soothing or good for skin such as comfrey leaf, plantain leaf, or yarrow. Gently apply organic extra virgin coconut oil, emu oil, and castor oil (one at a time, or in a blend) and let it sit on your scalp as long as you can. Calendula oil is also very healing and anti-inflammatory. Oils are very soothing. Last, people have had success applying their own urine to the scalp and skin. It's worth a try and can't hurt. Those are all topical solutions. Internally: Try cutting out the common food allergens dairy and gluten. See if there's improvement after 30 days. Turmeric is also very good for healing skin conditions, and can be taken by the spoonful. Lastly, try adding in high dose probiotics in your diet.

Thanks I'll give it a try. I recently found my herbal shampoo was causing bad inflammation. I've tried neem oil for the day and it's very cooling but makes no permanent difference.

I suffered from same condition for three years. Tried every product under the sun. Just discovered my condition due to well water was causing serious issues on my scalp.

If you think your water can be an issue causing mineral build up on scalp, get a clarifying shampoo one is ION, another Malibu C. Was a miracle for my hair and scalp.

You can also try apple cider vinegar 50 50 with distilled water, spray on hair in shower work in scalp then rinse.

if you have AVC get some citric acid powder. One tsp to one cup distilled water and make spray.

Other cause of scalp issues demodex mites, yeast.

ACV spray should not out the yeast. Demodex mites you will have to make up a borax mixtures.

Make sure you use clean pillow cases in case of mites. Do not freak out. Demodex are very common.
