Questions for Mama to Many About UTI Symptoms

Posted By Om (Hope, Bc Canada) on 10/01/2015

Dear Mama to Many ---

A few months ago I finished a large bottle of cranberry juice the object being UTI that I have seldom and the stream being like that of a water tap that needed a new washer.

Cleared the Uti but now the stream is again like the rays of the sun instead one stream; it had improved before. Do I need to finish another cranberry bottle. Also, if I wash dishes or hear water running, I have to run to the bathroom.

Done Kegel with strong muscles but that does not seem the answer. My bladder is over active and the moment there is urine in the bladder, it is time to run, however too late.

I take Amala vit C in large amounts three times a week without side effects. I also try to alkalize but only recently. I have to get up up to five times a night so I have to sleep in in the morning to make it, however it spoils everything. I eat or drink no no nos, mainly Borax 1/8th in lither of water, lemon lime home made , vegetarian with goat products otherwise I cannot make it well. Also organic turmeric in hot milk. I take the main vits. with breaks and very little carbs, no breads. Love ginger tea. No sugar other than coconut products. I am wondering if you have any ideas to improve at least the urine stream. My urine has a terrible smell but that may be due to diabetes which I trying to cure with urine therapy which is assured in our scriptures. Oh and I take unheated honey with ACV and Ceylon cinnamon. In Europe they would say I have built too close to the water.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this as online there is nothing that interests me and do they no nothing more than to sell incontinence togs? Namaste , Om

Dear Om,

It is always good to hear from you and see your posts on EC, though I am sorry this post is due to a current health challenge for you.
I have had lots of thoughts since reading your post and will share them. I know you are not always able to find the quality of herbs and products that you desire, so perhaps you will be able to find some of the things I share. And, of course, if one thing does not work, perhaps another will.
Since Cranberry Juice did not seem to completely solve the problem before I think I would try something else. You have such a careful and well chosen diet and are already doing so many things that should be helping you along with this...

Charcoal Poultices or Castor Oil Poultices over the lower abdomen overnight for several nights in a row should be able to help with infection of the bladder. You know these are a couple of my commonly suggested remedies because my family has had such wonderful success with them.

Do you still make your own colloidal silver? Once when out of town I had a UTI that was cured with the limited things I had with me, including colloidal silver. (Castor Oil Poultices over night, a few drops of Frankincense essential oil on the lower abdomen once or twice a day and a couple of Tablespoons of Colloidal Silver several times a day.)

Several Herbs come to mind.

Cornsilk (must be organic) can be made into a tea (Pour 1 cup of boiling water over a Tablespoon of Cornsilk and let it sit for 15 minutes with no more heat.) and drink 2-3 times a day. It does not have to be strained first. Great for toning the bladder and infections.

Oatstraw - very nourishing, tones the bladder and is also good for diabetes. It is a mild diuretic, though. You would make an infusion of this - Pour 1 cup boiling water over 2 Tablespoons of Oatstraw. Cover and let steep 4 - 8 hours before straining and drinking. (Sometimes I make this over night.)

Marshmallow Root - good for urinary stones, bladder infections and diabetes. Pour one cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the root and let stand until cool. Drink 2-3 times a day. Why do I highlight this? Just a feeling that this may be the best of what I suggest to you. Usually a vegetarian diet is not high in protein, correct? But I think of diets low in grains as one high in protein and this can increase the likelihood of stones. The nature of your urine stream makes me concerned that stones could be involved. Marhsmallow Root would be helpful for this.

I admittedly know little about it, but to me it seems counterintuitive to use urine therapy while you are dealing with a UTI. I wonder if you could take a break from it?

I seem to recall that you once reported using hot and cold water therapy in the form of sitz baths for a condition you are dealing with? I think that would be great thing to try again. Not only have I seen hydrotherapy cure infection, it is also toning to the muscles.

While I wouldn't see any concern in combining any of the above suggestions, I know that you are more in tune to the balancing of remedies.
I trust you will keep me posted. I will be thinking of you and waiting to hear how it goes!

With Love,

~Mama to Many~

Dear Om,

I used to get uti's a lot and I know the misery of them, I only ever got one that smelled bad once and it cultured up as pseudomonas , which is very resistant to antibiotics as it forms tough biofilms, I did some reading up on this bacteria and I discovered it had a weakness, it is sensitive to salt, so I started putting lots of salt on everything I ate which of course made me very thirsty this filled the bladder with salty water and the symptoms and smell went very quickly, I was also taking raw garlic at the time, but this was not having much effect on its own, I hope this helps.

Dear Mgh (UK) ---

It is not really a matter of UTI's as I have only had one in about twenty years. It is in my mind more to do with a lack of magnesium. Dr. M. Sircus on his website gives much info. though I don't use his products as they are too costly for what they are. There are other sources.

This past hot summer I had to remind myself to add extra 1/2 sp. salt before liquids so the body would retain fluids. See Dr. Batmanghelidg "the body's many cries for water".

Thanks for your kind reply and be well.

Namaste, Om
