Question About Cavities

Posted By Angel (sinking spring, pa) on 07/09/2008

I need help!!! I have a really bad tootheache from part of a filling that has fallen out but when I went to the dentist he claims all my teeth pretty much have cavities. He was very rude telling me I need to stop drinking soda. I was very offended since I don't like soda and I don't eat much sugar either. I take very good care of my teeth the lady that cleaned them said I was a 1 on dental hygeine. How can I make these cavities go away? I can't afford to keep going back to the dentist!!! I am a single mom of two so times are tough. Please help!!!!

Hi there:

I will postulate that you have some level of acidosis. I would guess that your saliva if acidic. This can be verified by using some pH paper with your saliva. And how can one prevent cavities if the saliva is acidic? Maybe, brushing teeth or swishing with baking soda will help alkalize the mouth. But I would encourage you to investigate the possibility of acidosis.

For more information about acidosis and pH balance you can go to

there's many more sites that can be found, just google acid alkaline balance or acidosis pH balance.

Hope this helps and good luck.
