Problems with chronic abdominal pain

Posted By Eileen (Sumter, SC) on 10/21/2014

I am 66 yrs old and have had digestive issues on and off since 1972 when I was diagnosed with Colitis. I am a carpenter, always working, not one to rest during the day.

Currently I have lower chronic/back pain for 3 months. Have nausea with occasional vomiting. The pain is so intense and has become debilitating. Had to have my gallbladder removed in June and I contracted C Diff apparently while at the hospital even though I was not on an antibiotic. I was diagnosed with it the end of JULY. Took flagyl for 10 days. About three weeks later I started having pain in the lower mid abdomen into lower back 24/7. Tested for C Diff again in late August with negative results. Also tested for parasites. Biopsied for celiac's in February with negative results. I had colon resection in 2008 for diverticulitis. Have had several bouts of diveticulitis since 2010. Recent colonoscopy revealed mild diverticulosis. I am not obese. I weighed 140 lbs but lost to 117 over last year not trying to. Had gained back to 129 lbs. Am 5' 5" lost down to118 lbs in 2 weeks. Dr not concerned about my low weight. I also have 4 degenerative discs in lower back.

I take probiotics every day along with fiber. Now the dr says to go to low fiber diet. I have tried several natural remedies with no success. Ginger, oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, baking soda, lemon juice. Am now trying charcoal.

It does not seem to make a difference with what I eat. I recently bought turmeric but have not yet tried it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear of so much trouble. My best advice is to use SLIPPERY ELM from the health food store. It heals lesions and does a lot more. It is ideal for your situation. Just type it in and google it. It has been used in Europe for a long time and deserves more attention. Wishing you well.

Namaste, Om
