Please Help Me W/ Severe Acid Reflux/ Lax G Junction

Hello Sir, I am 27 year old married woman and I am Suffering from Severe Chest & Back Pain (which is really unbearable) since last 02 years. During its initial stage I was under impression that I might be suffering from some Cardiac Problem as during those days, my Heart Beat and Pulse rate used to shoot up and I used to experience pricking knife like pain in my left side chest.

This pain later on used to shift from Chest to Back via under-arms. I carried out severel ECGs, Breast Sonography, 2D Echo, Stress Test, MRI of Spine and Chest. But all above reports were normal and not indicated any Heart/Cardiac related pain/problem.

Later on we did Oral Endoscopy wherein the Reports shows Lax G Junction. As such Doctor concluded I am suffering from Reflux problem, as such since last 2 years I have consumed pain killers I. E. Oxaglin, Dolo 650, Lanol, Intalgesic MR, Tramadol etc. and for Acidity related problems I consumed Pantocid, Omez, Pan 40 etc. For Reflux I have consumed Neksium 40, Ganaton. Took pain killer injections also. But still I'm not getting any relief... Still continuing intake of ganaton and pantoacid. Really got fed up with these tablets which I'm consuming from last 2 years.... now I'm really confused what it is a Reflux or some Muscular pain?

Please advice/suggest me further course of treatment and diagnose my problem too..

Hi, my first suggestion is to try an elimination diet in which you eliminate common problem foods from your diet for a while, then gradually, slowly reintroduce them one at a time to see if they cause symptoms. The usual foods to stop eating are eggs, milk, wheat, tomatoes, MSG ( monosodium glutamate- in many seasonings) and anything you suspect makes you feel bad after eating it. Good luck!

Has anyone every checked your gall bladder. I knew I had flareups with pain especially after eating greasy foods. Had to seek medical relief after two episodes of thinking I was having a heart attack. Pain was unreal. Many people suffer many years with pain and are treated for other ailments and it is gall bladder. I did not have gallstones but a non functioning gall bladder. Bad news is even when you have gall bladder removed you still can have pain. Changing diet is so difficult to do, yet it is the answer.

Hello Bahkti, I suffered from acid reflux for many years as well, as I refused to take medication. I finally found something that works for me. First, to get over the pain and not being able to eat much, I made some organic chicken broth, which I consumed exclusively for a couple of days until my stomach started feeling better. After that I stopped all carbohydrates and ate only protein for several days, such as boiled chicken, boiled eggs, steamed fish, tuna, grilled ground beef, all in small quantities and as I felt hungry. As my stomach felt better, I added cooked vegetables (no potatoes) and a little lettuce. To begin with, until your stomach feels better, eat small quantities. Do not eat any wheat breads, pasta, rice. Then you can start adding one of these at the time, still in small quantity and see if your body reacts. Gradually add a little carbohydrates to your meals, but I believe that for me at least, it's been the culprit. It's important to listen to your body. I also drink a lot of water throughout the day. I purchase bottled water that is higher in alkalinity. No more coffee or tea... Of course no soft drinks. Eat organic as much as possible and avoid sugar as well. Give it a try. It works for me. I know how miserable and depressing it gets to live with pain. I hope that you can feel better soon if you haven't found the solution yet. Good luck.

Hello Bhakti, this is Celyne again. I forgot to mention that I had to stop eating all fruits for a while as well, as most contain too much acid. No fruit juices. I also stopped all supplements. What worked for me was a very blend, mostly high protein diet. No hot spices, not much salt. It's not fun, but your stomach will love you and you will feel much better quickly. Then gradually and carefully go back to a more normal way of eating. If your stomach starts acting up again as you add new food items, go back to basics immediately, drink water, and the next day will be better. Your stomach needs to heal from much inflamation, so it will take a little time. Good luck.
