Breathe into a paper bag until you catch your breath, find out what is going on in your thoughts, is your stomach upset, B vitamins calm you down and coat the nerves, indigestion sets off panic attacks in me, I can sometimes take some papaya and it calms down, distract yourself with a game of solitaire, knit something and keep on counting while you distract yourself, If you don't knit start counting backwards from a 1000. Works well while getting a root canal. Call a friend, glass of water and pinch of salt, or a mineral supplement called CALMS. A cup of tea and a warm blanket out of the dryer, a shower, take a walk, take a deep breathe as your stomach cavity fills up with air and blow it out slowly and repeat and repeat . Again, what are you thinking about? Get a journal and find out what you are eating/drinking/supplementing, what is going on in your life that might be upsetting you, and how healthy is your body and your habits? Heart ailments can also set off panic attacks, so keep magnesium levels up and in balance with other minerals.

There are lots of free EFT (emotional freedom technique) instructional videos on youtube for anxiety/panic attacks. Easy to learn and typically works within 10min or so of using the technique.
