Once I get up and ease myself into my day (takes a while) normalcy kicks in and I feel a lot better about myself. But it's a fight between staying in my warm comfy bed and getting up at some crazy hour in the dark. How the hell do I deal with this?

What are your medications? How much is the ELECTROMAGNETIC POLLUTION in your house? Do some exercise in the evening, that can reduce your negative thoughts and give you good sleep.Replied by Lee (Maryville, Tn. Usa) on 12/19/2012
I too have had negative feelings starting at 3 am every morning ever since I started going through menopause. I used to sleep like a log, but when I started becoming menopausal, I could no longer get a decent nights sleep. Now I am post-menopausal by many years, but still have the disturbing thoughts and poor sleep. I don't have a clue what causes these thoughts---really strange as I have always been a natural optimist. I actually can get some relief by thanking God for all the wonderful things he has done for me. I just talk to him , praise Him, and thank Him for every wonderful thing I can think of. Since this started with menopause, I really think it is a hormonal imbalance of some sort. My neighbor thinks it is my blood sugar dropping during the night, as she is diabetic and feels that way when her blood sugar drops too low. She said to try keeping some honey in some water by the bed and drink it when that happens----will try that soon. I may just put the honey by the bed and take a tsp. when I get up to use the bathroom----which I do every night at 3am. Anyway, sorry I am not much help----just wanted you to know that you are not the only one having these awful thoughts and sleep disturbances during the night.
