Needs alternative remedies for c diff

Hi all,

I am so glad to find this forum. I don't know how I got c diff. I wasn't on any antibiotics but I did visit rehab hospital and was near a man who was throwing up a lot. maybe he had it and it was airborne? I have no idea.

The first 2 days on flagyll felt good then I progressively felt worse on the flagyll and the florastor as I am sensitive/allergic to both, I finished the flagyll while taking benadyl and advil and stopped the florastor but now 1 week later I have diarrhea again.

I'm relieved to find this because with my allergies to the medicine I will need alternative methods!

I have been drinking ginger tea constantly which helps a bit and had some miso soup which helped too. I am losing tons of weight and am waiting to see a c diff specialist, in the meantime I have missed so much work.

i will try the barley soup and turmeric pills and charcoal. any other ideas for alternatives to florastor? It makes me shaky, nauseous and weak.

One more question,

I just developed diarrhea again this morning a week after finishing 10 days of flagyll. yesterday afternoon I was actually feeling a little better so I stopped the BRAT diet and had bubbies saurkraut and an instant miso soup, which are supposed to be good because theyre probiotic (i can only take one florastor a day because it makes me so nauseated).

Could the saurkraut and or miso have caused the diarhhea? My doctor says lets wait and see. Also, I read that manuka honey is good so I have been drinking that with ginger tea constantly which I think helps the nausea and gas a bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

One more question, can anyone recommend a naturopath in the NYC area please?

I had c-diff about four years ago and the only thing that helped was oil of oregano and florastor. I took ooo 3-4x/day, Florastor once or twice a day for 4-6weeks. I started to feel better after a couple of weeks. I tested negative about a month or so later and it never came back. Praise God!
