Need Help for 17 Years of Chronic Insomnia

Posted By Leslie (Nc) on 09/07/2017

I have been a chronic insomniac for over 17 years now and have to take 10mg of zolpediem every night. I am not sleeping though for now close to 6 weeks straight. I am also taking 10 mg of melatonin with it and I feel I just lay in bed with my eyes closed all night long drifting but sleep never comes. I am not sure how much longer I can go on like this. I am in my mid-fifties and I have a lot of knowledge on the holistic arts, such as essential oils, etc but I am way past this. If I go off the sleep meds I could possibly risk having a epileptic seizure due to being sleep deprived. I have been seizure free for over 20 years now with medication. Doctors don't know what to do.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I wish I had answers. I came on here because I started battling this the last three or four years. I'm desperate to find answers. It has been unbearable. I am sending you lots of sleeping and healing vibes.

I struggle with insomnia too. Have you tried self-hypnosis? For me it ended up being the most useful thing I've come across. I used Steven Gurgevich's audio program but there are many out there. It requires some time though, listening to the readings twice a day. Fortunately, you can do the 2nd at bedtime so it ends up taking about 45 minutes a day. I hope you find some relief!

Ah! The Belly Rub Of Happiness! Castor oil - the palm of Christ - rubbed all over the belly and chest before bed. I doesn't get any better than that, for me.
