Terrie, first of all, congrats on trying to find an alternative to synthetic meds for your condition. There are a couple things I would suggest you do for your rhinitis:
1) seriously consider learning the art of oil pulling daily. There is tons of information on this topic on this site. I personally oil pull 20 minutes a day about 5 days a week first thing in the morning with unrefined virgin organic coconut oil I get from Trader Joe's. Study the principle behind why this method would help keep your nasal cavity from dilating. Start slow and work your way up to 20 minutes. 1 tablespoon, 20 minutes took me about 2 months. Be persistent.
2) Retrain how you breath using the buytenko method of breathing. Again, do your research on YouTube - pretty powerful information. When you have a flare up, a few simple breathing techniques can stop the vasoconstriction in your nose - dead in its tracks. I continue to train myself using this method and my asthma is virtually non existent. Again my once congested nose, lungs, etc.....are clear Almost 24/7.
Good Luck!
