Mucus in Throat For 8 Years

Posted By Denise E (Crescent City, CA) on 08/08/2023

..and not much relief but some. My quick fix is getting up when this stuff destroys my ability to fall asleep. I get up and drink a tsp with water of baking soda. It works but when I wake in the a.m. there it is coming down from my sinuses and causing me at times to lose my voice. I cannot cough it up, and I cannot blow it out my nose, very little comes out, my nose is just drippy. And it is clear by the way and when I shine a flashlight in my throat, it is coming down each side of my throat, not the middle, sinuses I'm guessing, they're on both sides right?

Anyway, from the list of remedies I've tried many, the best "feeling" one is the Pink Salt in my home-made way of doing the sinus irrigation, but it is quite temporary. But the salt-water is soothing at least.

Now I want to try other things I avoided as they sounded scarey, but H202, I have 3% Food Grade, and I might be willing to try the Iodine I bought, Lugols, but have not even opened. These are environmental allergies as I've already eliminated dairy and no help. Some days are worse than others, true, but this is year-round for me.

I read about Bill Monroe remedy but I have zero lung issue. It's my sinuses that needs to be cleared out, and mostly my throat as my head doesn't feel full as if I had an infection. No anti-histamines, they didn't do any good when the doc ordered Zyrtec for me, but, I will say they helped the hives I have on rare occasions. Extra windy days are awful for me.

What I'd like to know is, would it be safe to try hydrogen peroxide sprayed just in my throat, and up my nose, either diluted or straight? I did this one time yesterday, in my throat and it seemed to help but I could lie down to test it because I was too busy. I get the worst in my throat when I lie down, and I do have a 6 inch wedge pillow I use when it gets really bad, hoping the mucus with drain better, it helps but no lengthy relief. Oh, I also have air-purifier and keep windows closed as much as I can stand that. I need fresh air, but even in my rural town it's not that fresh here on the coast. Tons of trees, year-round pollen most of the time.

Any help at all appreciated ;) Denise
