Then I thought, hey, cystitis is the inflammation of the bladder, so my mom gave me an anti-inflammatory that she had been given recently and never took (she is a nurse, so she has experience with giving meds to patients for different things) and I'm still taking it but IM STILL HAVING SOME PAIN. I started thinking, what if it's not my bladder, what if it's my urethra that had something wrong with it? Or could it possibly be my cervix? I really don't know what's wrong with me. If anyone can give me an idea of what it sounds like I have, that would be awesome. And any remedies that would help fix it. Thank you.

Adelle Davis mentioned in her book, many moons ago, that magnesium helps with bladder infections. Also, would coconut oil help since it is antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial? Last, cayenne may help by fighting the infection to help stop the burning sensation.
Cipro has fluoride, I believe, which may deplete iodine in your body.
Hope this info is helpful and you are feeling better soon!

Jfrost231, it is most likely infection. The antibiotics kill the bacteria and that explains the temporary relief, but they leave behind a fungal infection so you don't really gain anything. Try your doctor for some antifungal medication or go the natural route w/ herbs like Garlic, Oil of Oregano, Grapefruit seed Extract, or Olive Leaf Extract (kills bacterial and fungal). Drink 2 cups low sugar Cranberry juice daily. Take two grams amino acid Lysine daily to help kill viral type infection (which is known to piggy-back on some types of bacteria). Zinc @ 50mg daily will substantially boost immune system as well as stimulate healing.Replied by Plumhappy (Eugene, Oregon) on 08/23/2012
Your problem could be intersticial cystitis. If so, drinking the cranberry juice will only make it worse. IC is a cronic inflamation of the bladder and cause a great deal of pain and burning, depending on the person. My friend and I both deal with this and different foods are cuprits for both of us. Cut out all acidic food, including coffee, black and green tea and any citrus (incl. Ascorbic acid). You can research this on line for a list of foods. Hope this helps.Replied by Plumhappy (Eugene, Oregon) on 08/23/2012
Sorry I did not read your original post before I responded the first time. Besides eliminating offending acidic food, I have been taking MSM, as it is an antinflamitory. This has worked great for me. My friend is worse off and about twice a year goes to her urologist to have a treatment with DMSO, where they fill her bladder with it. You may find more online about this. She says it is painful but worth it. I would try the MSM first. They are a related product. I hope this helps you. Please stick to the diet. It is the only way to live with this problem. You will find some foods are worse for you than others.. But in order for you to find out which ones are your worst enemy, you have to be strict at eliminating all acidic food. When adding back foods to your diet, start with the ones with just a bit of acid in it such as mayonaise( it is made with vinegar). For me, I can use ACV but not citrus, odd, does not make sense to me but there it is. Also, soda pop is on the bad list for this.Replied by Plumhappy (Eugene, Oregon) on 08/23/2012
I forgot one thing. There is a product that my friend uses all the time. You can buy it at Wallgreen Drug Store and on line. I don't recall if you use it after or before consuming something acidic but she swears by it and always has some with her.
