Remedies Needed for Intermittent Insomnia

Posted By Nelly (France) on 06/21/2016

I often refer to this site which is so full of very useful tips and advice. Thank you for the help you give to all of us.

For several years, I have been suffering with insomnia every Thursday night!! Up to now I haven't found a special reason to this problem. I am now wondering if it is related to the natural rhythm of our body: platelets renewal for example. I think they are renewed every 7 days (I am not sure). In fact, I suffer from ITP, that's why I thought about the platelets.

Does any of you know this type of insomnia occurring regularly? Do you know the cause of this insomnia? And the way to cure this problem?

Thank you for your help. God bless you.

Dear Nelly,

I don't know about the possibility of platelet renewal or some other body rhythm being the cause of your insomnia.

I do have a couple of thoughts. I know that I am prone to insomnia on a night when I know I have a long drive ahead of me the next day and I am worried that I won't get enough sleep and will be tired for the drive.

It makes me wonder if there is something that happens on Fridays that is a particular stress to you, causing the insomnia.

Or, do you eat at particular restaurant on Thursday evening and something you eat regularly then could be the cause?

If you know that Thursday nights you are prone to not sleeping well, you can take some preventative measures on that night.

A warm epsom salt bath in the evening is great for sleep. So is a cup of chamomile tea. Those are the things I would probably start with.

I hope you figure this puzzle out soon; let us know when you figure out the cause of your Thursday sleeplessness!

Good afternoon Mama to many,

Thank you so much for replying quickly to my question.

In fact, I got mixed up with the English language, as the insomnia takes place on Tuesday nights. It appears to be important. On a friend's advice I tried to find out what happened on a Tuesday (just as you advise me to do). I realised that I was operated of a breast cancer on a Tuesday in 1997! Well that's a first step, now I am going to try to find a way of falling asleep in spite of this wight on my mind and heart. Maybe eat a big plate of lettuce, it seems that after an hour or so I fall asleep.

I will keep you informed.

I wish you and all EC community a good day. God bless you for all the good you do to us.

Nelly
