Seeking Help for Son's Infected Eye Issues

Posted By Memey (Skopje) on 07/16/2017

My son started got a fever round 2 weeks ago and the day before the inner corner of his upper eyelid was a bit swollen actually the area under the eyebrows, not the actual lid! He started scratching his eyes and I saw some crust in the morning. Washed his face and eyes and thought it would be ok. His eyes turned a bit red, but that got better in a day or so. The discharge got more watery over the next couple of days although the upper lid swelling subsided. Hi was a bit puffy under too, but not too bad. The discharge was slimey and turned to crust quickly. We are out and about a lot as I am a single mum, I cannot leave him alone and he did not see to have so much discomfort besides the itching. The eyes werent red anymore either..I cleaned up the puss and crust and thought it would be ok. He still was a bit puffy under the eyes and everything seemed to point at conjuctivitis (disharge, crust, itchy) so I started washing with apple cider vineger highly dilluted, then he developed tiny, tiny bumps under his eyes and now more swollen UNDER the left eye, with a little white pimple in the corner. Tried colloidal silver and his discharge lessened, still swollen under the eye the day after, with that white pimple on the swelling and tiny, tiny spots. No pain, not even itching anymore, not complaining at all, whatsoever...

Went to see a dr (just in passing, not an oftamologist) and she recommended an antibiotics or penicilin cream (tobrex) and yesterday, although the sweling was a bit smaller under the eye, I put the cream on. This morning he wakes up puffy under the OTHER eye as well, red along the lower eyelashes, and some swelling under the eyebrows, again! There is some crust, not watery anymore - just a light, light crust. I cleaned it up - but now I am suuper scared putting anythung in his eyes, as everything seems to come some new complication! This does not seem as conjuctivitis anymore as there is no disharge, but then why the swellig under the eye, wth is that pimple, why did the under eye swelling suddenly start in the other eye and why does it swell under the eyebrows above the inner corner of the eye?

I know that there is low chance any of you know what it is and what to do - but not even the doctor knew and gave me what obviously worked for the crust but spread the swelling - and have no money for the oftamologist right now.. ANy ideas?

@Msmg

Thank you for the honey tip! The chamomil we have tried, it has not worked, unfortunally. I am discontinuing the tobrex today, now he also has a chaliazon on the upper lid and more bumps, also more red under the eye. Will try honey, thank you!

@Timh

Thank you! Thank you for the zink suggestion, He eats an amazingly balanced diet, and has not had sugar, gluten or anything unorganic for over a month, but will make sure to include the supplement. Will try the oil too.

He uses Avene natural shampoo or an organic baby shampoo from the pharmacy, so I doubt it causes problems, he did have a haircut recently and has hair in his eyes all the time. Coconut Oil we use very much, and he gets a little spoon each day as well, he loves it. He also has a bath every week that I put magnesium chloride in, usually a whole cup, that should be equal to the epsom salt I believe?! He has had horrible problems with acid reflux and has to eat at least 5 times a day to avoid it, have tried Oil of Oregano soft gels but they were way way too hars on his tummy and I had to discontinue them. Right now his eyes are kind of worse, he is red under the eyes, and there is more crust, I suspect either allergic conjuctivitis or blespharitis as the tobrex is not helping at all -so I am discontinuing it. He developed many small bumps under his both eyes, and two-three pimples it seems like, as well as a pimple on his eyelid, which I believe is chaliazon :( Doing calendula cleanses, warm compresses and cleaning with c silver ( not dripping it in the eyes). Too scared to try ACV again, bit we will see. I am really lost, no insurance and I suspect oftamologist will say allergies, and pediatrician will send me to do 100 tests that I cant afford. On top of it all, he burned himself 4 days ago, seemed ok, but suddenty the area is red and there is like a circle around and I suspect infection, so I am super scared of staph and MRSA. I am way to scared to be that good, nice, collected mother, I scare him even more to the point he tells me he is fine, just so I wouldnt jump around bugging him every 2 minutes.. Thank you for your help and input, lots of love!

@Teena

Thank you for the answer! It is not really on the lash line, but slightly under, and now he developed one on the upper lid, far from the lashes, so I believe it was blespharitis now resulting in a chaliazon, starting from an allergic conjuctivitis maybe. I am really at my wits end. I did Colloidal silver, but it is not supposed to be used for more than 2 days otherwise it can seriously damage the eye, so no CS for him right now :( Happy it worked so well for your LO! My son is unfortunally allergic to turmeric (and corriander, cardemum and cloves ) so no spices of that sort, also he doesnt tollerate milk because of acid reflux, but he gets small doses of CS to drink as well as having a great, organic diet, and gets calendula tea, as well olive leaf supplement, so lets hope..Thank you again!

Memey, read up on honey (I only do it externally, on the lids), and camomile tea bag on the closed eye.

There is obvious singes of Zinc deficiency in this case. Take 50mg Zinc Citrate or Zinc Gluconate with 2mg Copper away from fibre foods. Rub the affected area with Cod Liver Oil each morning.

Switch brands of hair Shampoo to a medicated one. A hot bath of 1/4 cup Epsom Salts and 1/4 cup Borax once or twice a weak will help. Coconut Oil in foods or as supplement will help. Oil of Oregano soft gels will kill infections in the gut which will boost immune function all over.

Hi, my son used to get a lot of eye infections, the pimple on the lash line you mention is an infected eyelash. It seems to be common with long lashes. He used to get them one after the other. My research led me to Colloidal silver and to make sure he eats some raisins everyday (obviously nutritionally something was lacking). He did not like the Colloidal silver drops he said they stung, so I use a tea bag, any kind, herbal, black etc, dunk the bag in boiling water and when cool enough squeeze and apply to eye. Laying down is easier. Several times a day for as long as you can keep it on him. Recently we had another infection and I suspect the cotton wool with cs and it cleared up really well with one application but I think we caught it early as well. Also for your son something to help the inflammation internally a lot of the Indian cooking spices are good like cloves, cinnamon and turmeric. Maybe some turmeric 1/4 tsp in some warm milk with pure honey twice a day.

Memey: "He has had horrible problems with acid reflux and has to eat at least 5 times a day to avoid it, have tried Oil of Oregano soft gels but they were way way too hars on his tummy.

This is a direct symptom of elimination failure. Try cleaning & stimulating the Gallbladder with Dr Christopher's "Liver/Gall" herbal formula. Resume the Oregano with added one spoon of Milled Flax Seed to clean the Colon. ACV and Lemon Juice is good for increasing Bile flow.

The Hot Baths will help detox & elimination as will any sweating like Sauna or Steam Room.
