TMJ ( Tempromandibular Joints) Degeneration

Hello.

My daughter has be diagnosed with ICR ( idiopathic condylar resorption) and they said her condyles are going to degenerate and there's no hope for it to get better. She's only 14. I was wondering if there are any supplements that can help reverse this degenerating process. Thank you

Dear Kal,

I am so sorry. That is a disheartening diagnosis. I have had TMJ for 40 years. Mine is not the typical either, it is also a condyle issue; mine never properly formed, though the doctor doesn't think I have ICR.

I would encourage you to reach out to Dr. Ed Zebovitz in Bowie, MD. He is a TMJ specialist. I went to him 2 years ago for a procedure that has brought me immense relief. And he is the first doctor of countless over the decades to actually understand what is going on with my jaw. He has videos on youtube and teaches and helps others worldwide. He is a humble and kind man.

Ideally, look for remedies that are bone supporting and immune supporting. Bone broth would be a good place to start. It is easy to incorporate into the diet. You don't have to just have it for soup. It can be used instead of water in rice, etc.

Please let me know how it goes.
