Need Help Identifying Mystery Rash on Back

Posted By Aric (Wisconsin) on 05/03/2023

Hoping to see if anyone can identify this spotty red rash: I've had them on my back for over a year, they're flat, and weirdly go white after a lot of sunlight while the skin around tans. It didn't itch the first year but now they do. They have now spread to the frontside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aric,

You can try topical 1% Clotrimazole so see if it is a fungus. If it improves at all it is likely fungal in nature and can be treated as such.

Clotrimazole is available otc at most drugstores such as Walgreen's or Walmart for under $9. House brands seem to be as effective as brand name.
