I suffer from back pain and dont want to take pain pills

I woke up with a pounding headache, back pain, and joint pain yesterday. I felt Like I was coming down with flu so I took Ibuprofen hoping to get some relief. However, it only lessens the pain a bit. I asked my husband to massage my back and hands to alleviate the pain and I took another ibuprofen last night. At 5:00 a.m. the joint pain was gone, the back pain lessened but the headache is still there so I decided to take painkillers for it.

I am afraid that taking pills for my pain might be damaging my kidneys slowly. I still have the back pain now but I don't want to take more pills. Can ACV help me? Or do you have other remedies I could try?

Dear Darby,

Apple Cider Vinegar would surely be worth a try! 1 Tablespoon in a tall glass of water once or twice a day. Adding 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda will make it less strong.

You could also try turmeric, the spice from the grocery store. (You can buy it in bulk at Indian Markets or online.) 1 teaspoon a couple of times a day in some milk. Not delicious, but really amazing for inflammation.

Epsom Salt baths (1 cup per bath) can help with pain.

It is also important to keep well hydrated and limit sugars and processed foods.

Let us know how it goes for you!

Hello Darby,

If the pain is located in your lower back that tells me you are either having financial problems or support that you expected from someone did not come your way - or both. Your body "hears" your complaint, takes it as a request, and complies by removing physical support from you in the form of a backache.

Acupuncture or a network chiropractor can make a healing difference. Good luck.

I suggest you read a book by Dr. John Sarno - Healing back pain. You can order it on Amazon. My friend and I have no more back pain after reading this book. No pain killers required.

Good luck.
