I am trying to get off Proton Pump Inhibitors. I have been on them for years. I didn’t use to have heartburn. I had to begin taking the PPIs because I get stomach ulcers. I found out how bad these pills are do you so I want to stop them. I tried switching to Prilosec and the heartburn is really severe. I assume my body is addicted to the meds, but the pain is too much to go cold Turkey on the meds. Suggestions- I already take digestive enzymes and probiotics, along with all my vitamins.
