How Can Strength and Balance Be Restored to Elderly?

Posted By Hisjewel (America, New York) on 11/01/2016

Greetings Everyone,

Does anyone know what can restore physical health and strength to an elderly person that is on the go, but yet has become weak and somewhat wobbly?

I noticed a few elderly people that are not shaken when you walk pass them. Then there are those who if they do not have a walker hold on to everything they pass-by. Is it a lack of vitamins and minerals?

Good to see your concern for the elderly HJ.

Many nutrients one could take for anti-aging and lots of info & resources on the topic. To be brief I will mention some much needed "starters" that will help significantly reverse the decline.

1. Boost hormones with DHEA 50mg daily for several months then up to 100mg if needed.

2. Also for hormone boosting in general, but HGH (Human Growth Hormone) boosting in particular, is a combination of the amino acids Arginine/Ornithine/Lysine. Take as recommended on label. This turns metabolism from catabolic to anabolic which means muscle gain (muscle loss is a major problem for the elderly).

3. Take 500mg Quercetin daily for the benefits of more energy, less inflammation, and cellular antioxidant protection; which altogether translates into "more stamina".

4. Eat regular Brazil Nuts for much needed Selenium. Selenium is very important anti-aging mineral. Take 300mg CoQ10 2x daily to bind with the Selenium and increase antioxidant protection & energy.

5. Two Spoons of Bee Pollen Granules daily is a powerhouse of nutrition and a great source of energy. Also can take a supplement of Bee Pollen/Bee Propolis/Royal Jelly.

Do consider printing this regimen for sharing as to reduce the loss of info in the process. They can take it with them when shopping.

Dear Hisjewel Speaking as one in her ninetieth year who is very much one of the weak and wobbly, I wish I knew! I eat extremely well (largely raw, green smoothies, plenty of magnesium etc etc), yet am in infinitely worse shape than most of my nonagenarian friends, who with rare exceptions are still walking without a stick, descending stairs without even holding on to the banisters, etc etc. - and who all take far less care of their diet than I do. And I am not even arthritic - My family insisted I see a geriatrician - who clearly thought it was ALL IN THE MIND and that I should GET OUT MORE. If only it WERE - and if only I COULD -

Maca is a great natural source of energy/vitality and vitamins/minerals. Helps restore the endocrine system. Gelatinized maca is the best form to take. Tsp to TBSP/day is all it takes to get a nice energy boost. Google maca benefits for tons more info.

Greetings Mrs A of London UK,

You're awesome! That is so interesting. Your diet sounds great. Your strength should line up with your diet one would think. Well some of our friends here at EC has shared a few things we can look into.

Yet I do see a great blessing you have in your nineties, that is you have the mind to think for yourself and to keep reaching for better.

Well lets check out Timh's and Steve's list and others who may have made a comeback. if it works for us we can share it with others.

HisJewel
