Daughter With Hernia Mesh Pain and Swelling

Posted By Shadel (Nebraska) on 08/13/2017

My daughter had hernia repair with the medical mesh. Does anyone know if pain is felt 2 to 3 months after the surgery? She also has fibromyalgia pain which is different than this pain and swelling around the incision. Thanks to anyone who has experienced this.

In reply to Shadel (Nebraska),

Please google, "hernia mesh lawsuit" to get an idea of what problems people are having with these hernia mesh surgeries.

My partner had a mesh inserted due to naval hernia and it took about a year before he was without pain. He does blame the surgeon who didn't forewarn him about the after effects.

My dad (78) developed an autoimmune disorder within a month of the hernia surgery- mesh was used. He now has polymyalgia rheumatica. He has never had any health issues at all or injuries until the hernia. The only thing that makes sense is that his body is rejecting the mesh in some way- causing this response. He has been in terrible full body pain, stopped eating, felt horrible. He just started a course of prednisone.
