Posted By Cristina (Blaine, Washington) on 02/13/2015

Hello, well my mom has had emphysema for years now she is now 65 and in very bad condition. She actually moved in with me a few months ago but is not able to work well with her condition and I am having to take careoff her. We both like the natural way better, anyway she has coughed do hard for so long that she has broken ribs multiple times she is almost always coughing and spitting up flem constantly. I am worried about her but we are very very broke and her nor I can afford to send her to the doctor so I am relying on the powers of the Internet. I would really like your advice or help I am very worried. Thank you

Dear Cristina,

Your mother is blessed to have you willing to care for her and help her!

Please look into Bill Munroe's Hydrogen Peroxide Inhalation Therapy It is inexpensive and has helped so many.

I would avoid dairy products in her diet as they tend to increase mucus.

Good things to drink are:

Water

Herbal Tea

Vinegar Tea (1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar with 1 Tablespoon honey in a mug. Pour boiling water over it.)

Avoid sweet tea and soda and keep coffee to a minimum.

I hope these things will be helpful and that you see improvement soon.

Cristina, read up on Bill Monroe's h2o2 inhalation for a start, but as a reader just wrote: do NOT overdo it! Or you can simply put a splash of it into a humidifier kept nearby.

Hi Cristina, You might want to try some ground ginger...about 1/2 tsp. in 4-6 oz. water. I'm not an MD or a NP but I have read the Asians use this for chest congestion, colds, headaches, etc. It kills salmonella, staph infections and fights cancer. It is also reported to be used for nausea and vomiting. Love, KT
