I would be buying a jar of comfrey salve/ointment. It's referred to as knit bone. And I would apply to the area 2 to 3 times per day until you get relief. Wishing you a speedy recovery!Replied by Art (California) on 12/01/2024
Hi Jannette, Three supplements that are likely to be more useful than a glucosamine supplement combo are zinc, boron and vitamin K2 Menaquinone 7 (K2M7) all three of which help bones to heal through various methods of action and label suggested dosing is usually adequate for the purpose.
There are other useful supplements such as magnesium, silicon and vitamin D, but the first three are important. If you are not currently supplementing vitamin D, then you might consider adding it also because vitamin D level declines with age and at 77 years of age, your native vitamin D level (25 OH d level) is likely deficient.
