Eye Edema from Diabetic Retina Damage - Please Suggest Remedies

Posted By Jay (Chicago, IL) on 05/25/2021

Question: What will help with eye edema? I have diabetic retina damage and am getting shots in my eyes to help. Is there an alternative treatment that will also help?

Jay,

Inflammation and excess oxidative stress can cause edema/swelling. Melatonin has shown to reduce both issues in studies.

Melatonin has a very good safety profile :

You can also consider a B vitamin complex such as B-150 for its protective effects, which your doctor may have already recommended.

You can use these studies to discuss very high dose melatonin use with your doctor because you have a lot at stake here and the sooner you try to reverse the process, the better.
