Hi Oviaso, You haven't said anything about your lifestyle, diet, body condition, etc. That information could be very important regarding why you can't sleep. Best to you, LisaReplied by Juliette (Reston, Va) on 09/13/2012
Hello! Sorry to hear your having trouble sleeping. Ive struggled with insomnia or just not getting enough sleep for years. What really ended up changing EVERYTHING for me was taking GABA and 5htp before bed. The book the Mood Cure by Julia Ross was very helpful. Melatonin works for some people, as does magnesium, valerian... You just kinda go by trial and error till you get the thing that works! Just dont give up! If I had caved in and went to a Dr.to get on a sleeping pill I wouldnt of stumbled upon the mood cure and started taking amino acids that can actually heal my brain instead of just masking the symptoms... Good luck!!Replied by Bonnie (Arcadia, Fla) on 09/14/2012
Been reading about several people with sleep difficulties. After nursing and losing my brother to cancer, sleep wasn't happening except in one hour intervals. A little research later I started taking 200 mg L-theanine and 50 mg DHEA daily. They seem to control cortisol levels. It did the trick. Side benefit; I lost 20 lbs and six inches of belly fat. Sure is nice to sleep through. BonnieReplied by Gail (Melbourne, Australia) on 09/15/2012

Hi Oviaso, I am not Ted but I have put together a few things he has talked about on the site to help me with my sleep issue and it is already making a difference. Supplement these at bedtime:
Melatonin, Amino acids (I use glutamine, taurine, carnitine, carnosine, glycine and tyrosine, but whatever mix or separates you choose), DHEA, plus an alkalizing remedy such as Ted's lemon/baking soda/water drink.
Also at bedtime, try lavender oil either in a spray or lotion near your chest or nose, and magnesium oil (magnesium chloride) - I use that on my legs, but wherever you prefer.
