Posted By Dee (Wisconsin ) on 04/21/2025

I have just been diagnosed with diverticulitis and now have a microscopic perforation. Anyone out there have had any experience with this and any suggestions?

Hi Dee,

Two commonly used supplements for diverticulitis are Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) and Oregano oil in soft gels. Take them at label directions. Since you already have a perforation, slippery elm bark may be useful to help protect the perforation and potentially allow the perforation to heal if taken at label dosing amount.

Here are some typical products :

GSE -

Interesting about the oregano oil. I think it is the answer to so many problems but it is awful for my stomach, taken with or without food. Sometimes the diarrhea and stomach pain are worth it if it gets rid of infections quickly. thanks for all your help

@ Dee (Wisconsin )

I have always recommended Swedish-Bitters to people suffering from diverticulitis. Every one of them was cured of this illness within 5 days of taking this elixir 3x/daily.

Your number one remedy is an authentic, cold-pressed, unprocessed seabuckthorn oil. Start taking 1tsp first thing in the morning on empty stomach. Never buy on Amazon. Call the seller and inquire the source, where and how it was processed, is it from cultivated or wild grown shrubs. Some countries manufacture seabuckthorn oil for medicinal purposes ( vs. cosmetic). If you see it diluted with some other oil, but manufactured in a legit manufacturing facility that is a subject to regulations and standards, that is okay. Pure seabuckthorn oil could be a bit too strong to start with. My advice has helped so many people with digestive, reproductive organs ulcers and erosions that people started growing the shrubs in their gardens to make the oil.

Check siberiantigernaturals site, their oil is from Altai region.
mountainroseherbs site sells seabuckthornoil as well, however they say Intended Use: Cosmetic use only ( they are probably not allowed to advertise it as medicinal) Call them and ask about the source ( it is from China, but ask about the region, processing etc). Be careful about Organic label. It could be misleading and not truthful. Just like there are no organic honey or essential oils, cultivating sea buckthorn shrubs could be problematic.
