Dietary changes have still not resolved chronic bloatingPosted By Christine O (Maricopa, Az) on 02/07/2012
Had kidney stone attack, fifth one in 4 years. Try to dissolve stone naturally with lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, did for week and a half, still not passed. Got some kidney stone pills at health food store, did and got relief a week or so later.
Decided to go on alkaline diet, Mornings I have a three fruit smoothie, lunch is basically vegetables and maybe cucumbers and celery and hummus. Cut out all gluten products and sugar.
Eat hardly any meat or dairy, maybe some goat milk cheese on the salad. Lost weight, but the bloating in my stomach has come back the last few days. Started on some Unsulfured organic blackstrap molassed a few days back, was hoping to get more calcium into me without eating dairy. Could that be the culprit? Also started eating bananas in my smoothies in the morning. I have had a bloated stomach since I was 17, I am 58 now.
I also do proper food combining now, but I am still bloating, do you have any suggestions? I have been following diet tips from a nutritionist from Africa who advocates eating lots of fruits, just make sure you eat with nothing else. You mentioned in one of your replies you did not believe we were made to eat fruit, because body can't handle all fructose, so I am really confused. I would love to hear any suggestions, this belly bloat is driving me nuts, I really thought eating this healthy would take care of it. God Bless

1 fruit 2 hours in between meals is ok.
For bloating specifically, consider consuming papayas, probiotics of very good quality (I especially like ReNew Life products specific strains made for bloating), sauerkraut and other lacto-fermented veggies several times daily, spirulina & chorella to keep the liver clean. Start the day with FRESH organic veggie juice made with cucumbers, celery, parsley, mint, ginger and lemon.
You can google lacto-fermedted veggies, easy to make and extremely nutritious in resetting your gut.

This site teaches you how to make kefir and cultured veggies.
Additionally herbal teas made by boiling the following ingredients (INDIVIDUALLY) is great for bloating issues:
- Fenugreek
- Mint
- Anise Seed
- Licorice
- Ginger
Hope this helps.

1. Bananas - which I was eating daily since forever. I love and miss them but can't go back.
2. Popcorn - of any kind. Organic air popped or microwavable.
3. Dairy - I don't eat alot but I love cheese. But it is mostly yogurt that gives me issues. I can't take probiotics without issues either. I have heard that if you take them for a few weeks the bloat will go away though I am to chicken to try.
4. Lettuce - for some reason having had my gallbladder removed made it almost impossible to digest lettuce and other leafy greens.
5. Soda/Pop - any fizzy drink really makes my stomach blow up.
Fruits and veggies will give you gas no matter how much you eat but some people need a little extra help to digest them. I find that if I take digestive enzymes I can handle alot of things including some of the things listed above. I think everyone is different. Our intestines have different bacteria that reacts differently with certain foods. Maybe you could try cleansing your intestines with an enema. I find that if I fast every few months my intestines seem to settle down for a bit. But mostly I try to stay away from the foods listed above.
