Diagnosis problem for thyroid issues

Posted By Libertybelle2012 (San Tan Valley, Az) on 06/18/2014

I am so frustrated because I do not know if I am hyper or hypo thyroid!!! I am 46 years old and weigh 93lbs. I have been thin my whole life and cannot gain weight. I have a low body temperature between 95.5-97.5

I do not suffer from depression, but do have terrible cycles, hair is falling out ( I always had thick beautiful hair) nail break easy and have had severe constipation my whole life. I would say hypo thyroid but my weight issue does not fit the category. Help

HI Libertybelle2012...To help you discern whether you are hypo- or hyperthyoid here are the varous symptoms:

Hypothyroid Symptoms

Hyperthyroid Symptoms

From all the symptoms that you've mentioned it would seem that you are hypothyroid.

My advice would be to go to the doc and ask for a Free T3/Free T4 test to confirm your hypothyroid condition. Do not take the TSH/T4 test that the doc will advise because it is very inaccurate -- insist on taking the Free T3/Free T4 test which actually directly measures the levels of T3 and T4 in your blood which is what you want.

If you are hypothyroid then I would take the Iodine Protocol with companion nutrients daily because your body is lacking iodine.

Iodine and Your Thyroid

Iodine Companion Nutrients

I would also get a hair analysis done which will tell you your Vitamin and Mineral status as well as tell you what heavy metals you have in excess in your body. This can also impact thyroid health.

Your low weight issues might be due to an entirely different set of reasons. You might have parasites or dysbiosis or a problem with absorption of nutrients into your body or a lack of proper digestive enzymes and lack of stomach acid.

Your severe constipation issues might also be due to bacterial or fungal(Candida) issues in the intestines. I had severe constipation issues when I had candida because my intestines were too acidic. Alkalizing your body as advised on EC will help your constipation issues as will taking one tablespoon of VCO twice a day with meals.

So best to get your doc to also check your stool, blood and urine as well to see what other possible problems or infections you might have.
