Could Eyestrain Be Causing Me to go Downhill at Age 88?Posted By Mrs A. (London Uk) on 11/23/2015
Could it possibly be eyestrain? I spend a negligible amount of time on the computer, but I do read - in fact (since I have no television) reading is what I do, for anything up to sixteen hours a day, but almost always for ten or twelve. My family dismiss the idea - but could it be? PLEASE HELP! There is so much I still want to do.

I am sorry to hear you feel you are going downhill. Do you walk for exercise? I work with many lovely people your age and have learned walking increases vitality and zest for life. You may not feel the desire to walk, but perhaps you can start off slowly and find someone to walk with you. Do you have a pet? One of my aunts is 96 and walks her dog several miles each day without fail. I believe the dogs in her life have kept her going. She takes no supplements and eats very little. On the other hand, I have another relative a few years younger than you who stopped walking when her dog passed and she rapidly declined after that. Others on this site will be able to advise supplements to try, but my humble advice is to walk a little bit each day if you can.
My very best to you.
