Conjunctivitis or Allergies?

Posted By Jessica (Cheshire, England) on 12/26/2008

I have been suffering from conjuntavitus for a while now and i'm only under 13. I get a itchness around both my eyes and have the urge too runs them. I rubb them thoroughly but i dont know that i'm doing it. My eye's begin to get sore and inside my eye to produce and dis-charge or a gunk in my victim'd eye. I dont know wether i'm allergic to anything which causes the itchness around my eye. Also after a couple of minutes my eye start too swell up and itmediatly i tell my parents. As my mother being a nurse she doesnt believe it's conjuntavitus she just says it's a natual effect of my eyes itching, but i think differently. So i did some research and found out that i may be allergic to something. I own 5 horses but whenever i have sore eyes i'm never down there, but i do own 2 dogs and 1 cat. The cat i never usually see but my dogs are usually everywhere. I do see quite alot of dog hairs due to them malting this season.

Any help?

Hi Jessica. I have had the same thing; and yes it might be an allergy. Still it is possible to do something (other than remove you from your animals); First thing; cut out all kind of heated oils in your food; chips, crisps, margarine, etc. Only fry your food in real butter or coconut oil. Olive oil is ok on salads, only cold pressed, never heat oils. I know it is difficult with all the chips in UK, but try for 3-4 weeks and see. Addition; one / half teaspoon with Turmeric a day plus some enzymes (usually 2 capsules a day; read on packet); one multi vitamin / mineral. Last thing is; use real salt; himalaya or celtic salt and as much vitamin C you can stomach. (usually that is 3-6 grams if you are about 9 stone) This work as an anti-histamine. I think you will notice effect within a month. Good Luck!
