Questions About Colloidal Silver and Antibiotics for Chronic Sinusitis

Posted By Jon (Wheeling, WV) on 04/10/2022

I have had chronic sinusitis for years. Lately, it has made sleeping almost impossible. I went to an ENT and they prescribed 2 weeks of Amoxicillin. If it does not help, they will look at modifying the sinus cavity. I have been on antibiotics in the past for sinusitis and it came back shortly after finishing the meds. I explained this to the ENT but he still only gave me 14 days' worth.

Could I supplement the antibiotic with colloidal silver to enhance it? If so, at what dose? Could it hurt my gut flora? And lastly, what prebiotic would help the best?

Jon,

The most effective way I have used colloidal silver (CS) for sinus issues is to apply it the way I would use a nasal spray or with a neti pot. CS has potent antimicrobial properties, but it also has biofilm busting activities. Long-standing sinus infections sometimes develop biofilms that protect the pathogen from the body's natural defenses and even from antibiotics. I will usually rotate between CS and a nasal spray called, " XLEAR NASAL SPRAY ".

Xlear Nasal Spray has Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) and Xylitol (X) as active components. GSE is another potent antimicrobial and it also is a biofilm buster while the X is again, a biofilm buster and has anti-irritant qualities.

Rotating between these two is very helpful for me and may allow antibiotics to be more effective. I have previously written about Xlear Nasal Spray for its anti-Covid-19 effects, here:

This will give you an idea of how potent an antimicrobial it is. Here is a link to a study that shows that using CS in the nose and mouth can help prevent Covid-19. This gives an idea of how potent of an antimicrobial CS is :
