Bubbles in Urine and Ammonia Smell

Posted By K (Alberta) on 01/31/2021

Hello, I am going to try to make this make as much sense as possible, and write it in a concise manner.

I am 31 year old male, 5' 9" Approx 152-155 lbs.

I have had problems for the last 5 or 6 years. I believe it is due to Candida, metals, and a mold exposure in early 2018. I used to have really bad food intolerances and if I ate bread I would be sick and lethargic for days. My knuckles in my hand would feel swollen. I also have had a history of high alcohol, cannabis and cocaine consumption which I have stopped using all of these things and tobacco as well.

I saw a Naturopath in late 2018 and she said she picked up Candida, adrenal fatigue and heavy metals. Also that I was in a "Catabolic State". I was also very skinny at this point I was about 135 lbs. I was not digesting food well.

Her remedies really helped me. I no longer experienced the swollen knuckles from eating, etc. However my digestion had not fully improved. It seems I have poor bile flow. I've had gallbladder pains but they've since went away. My stool is often dark yellow/sometimes brown, with occasional undigested food. It varies.

I felt better for quite a while. Fast forward to spring 2019, and my seasonal allergies started acting up. But something strange was happening, my urine reeked of ammonia and I would pee alot.

Then in later 2019 I received a spider plant from a friend, and ended up being allergic to it. It took me months to figure out it was the plant because I thought those were supposed to help clean the air.

Anyway, the same thing started happening with the allergies, terrible sinusitis, and extremely ammonia smelling pee. Also I noticed white specs in my urine from the allergies as well. The pollen would collect in my sheets and pillows and be impossible to wash out. I would wake up drained with red eyes and huge dark circles under my eyes. All of my stuff got covered in this pollen.

Even since moving to this day it effects me.
The past four months I have noticed bubbles in my urine. Not super foamy but pretty large bubbles that take a while to disappear. The smell remains and the white particles. Its awful. Sometimes my kidneys hurt with a dull ache especially when the allergies were present. Urine is often clear. No brown urine, no extreme pain, no fever, etc.

I may have been consuming too much protein at work as I was trying to eat less carbs, I have had some blood sugar issues, I've had "sweet smell urine" a couple times and the odd numbness but no crazy diabetes symptoms. I was on some kind of "Adrenal Reset Diet" but it didn't seem to be working. I was working and staying in a work camp where they feed you food and it wasn't the greatest quality.

I have found this site recently and have been enjoying it, I also bought Ted's book Ph-balanced for life. And in the past week have been taking 1/2 teaspoon with baking soda with limes and lemons in the morning and night. I have found great benefit in taking Sodium Ascorbate, Magnesium Chloride the past 4 days and MSM the past couple days. I have noticed some positive changes in my mental state, concentration, energy level, and some positive changes in urine. The bubbles are now there only at night usually before bed ive noticed. I have cut down the meat I eat with each meal and I am trying to phase meat out. I am just trying to figure out better meals, I am also confused of alkaline diet charts. I've found alot of conflicting information about what vegetables are alkaline and what are not. Are lentils alkaline or acidic? I love lentils. I fry most of my veggies in coconut oil, or I steam them. Should I avoid butter? I eat organic butter on my steamed vegetables and usually coat the pan I cook my eggs in. What is the best way to eat?

I have a bunch of stuff on the way as well. Glycine, Lysine, Threonine, NAC, Sodium Molybdate, Bromelain, Selenium, Zinc, Fish Oil and Andrographis powder and some others.

I feel like I could have kidney stones but I'm not sure. I have had anxiety about kidney failure and the inability to get away from these allergies. Also ever since I got exposed to mold in a water damaged building in 2018 I am highly sensitive to it. Also I know that Candida is present because I witnessed it in the tube during colonic irrigation in 2018. I tried borax for 5 days about 8 days ago, I experienced some die off but nothing crazy. But I stopped the borax because I read in Ted's notes you should alkalyze with baking soda and lemon for 2 weeks before starting the borax. I also stopped my vitamin d because of the calcium effect I read about.

I bought a cheap PH meter online but they forgot to send me the calibration packets. I cant really afford the ORP, Conductivity Meter, or the Brix meter right now.

Here is what I want to know as I cant find anything on Earth Clinic regarding urine bubbles;

What are these bubbles in my urine? I am wondering if it is safe for me to take potassium bicarbonate. I have some. And want to do the Carbicarb remedy with the potassium bicarbonate. It says that if your urine smells it means you lack potassium, but then I read that if your kidneys aren't in good shape that potassium can damage them. I took a little bit of potassium bicarbonate lastnight and it seemed fine but the bubbles were there. Not really sure if potassium is what I need or what I dont need.

I am hoping the bromelain, NAC, and aminos to build collagen help with the allergies. I've been suffering debilitating lethargy and fatigue since September 2019 from these allergies to the spider plant pollen that seems to have followed me. I always have dark circles under my eyes and I wake up feeling awful. These last few days have been better though.

Also I noticed that I am allergic to probiotics now, as well as pickles and vinegars seem to make me "react".

I may have forgotten something but any advice would be great. I love the site and Ted is brilliant. I am sorry to hear what happened to him. His work and knowledge is incredible. I've been reading about natural health since I started having alot of problems in 2016 and his work makes more sense than anything I've ever read. Looking forward to having a balanced PH and getting my mind in check. I often feel scatterbrained "ADD". And the hours of the day just fly by so fast and it seems very hard for me to focus. I am not working right now but I really want to learn Spanish and I have much I would like to learn and study but seem to have trouble concentrating. Although I'm feeling quite nice the last few days. Much better than I was a week ago.

Thank you to anyone who responds, have a wonderful start to your week!

First thing, slow down! It sounds like you have developed a bunch of sensitivities so by adding all kinds of supplements at once, and then get a reaction it will be hard to determine was is beneficial or not.

Here’s what I would do.

Get a notebook and be methodical about adding a supplement. Write down date beginning and then any reaction, negative or positive.

You can buy ph strips and test your urine and find out how you are doing.

Examine where you are living. Are there other things that might be making you feel ill. Other plants, even things like laundry detergent, what kind of water do you drink bottled or well water, treated or untreated.

It sounds like you should do elimination diet and find out if there are foods that just make you sick. Are you eating one particular food or beverage that could be culprit?

Have you ever had thyroid checked? Before I was diagnosed being hypothyroid, I had bizarre symptoms such as crazy fatigue where I couldn’t open a fridge door as it was too tiring and then I starting getting welts all over my legs and arms.

All went away with natural thyroid replacement.

Regarding food. If you are sensitive you can be allergic even to the so called healthy food. Organic butter won’t do you any good if you are allergic to it. You could try using ghee see how you feel. Then try using virgin coconut oil and see how that goes. If you were allergic to a plant, eating plants might even be an issue. Again examine what you have been eating. Lots of people eat their favorite foods over and over again not realizing those foods are making them sick.

An obvious example is sugar!

With adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues are common and low iron you might get those checked. Check out Stopthethyroidmadness and check articles there.

Grab a notebook, and do tiny steps.

Hello K from Alberta,

Do you drink enough water, and enough healthy carbs before you go about your activities.

Robert Henry, Ten Mile Tn, always encourages us to read, and according to what I have read once the body uses up its carbohydrates resources, it switches and starts burning the body proteins. Proteins are made up of Amino acids and are broken down for energy when carbohydrates are used up. The way I understand it is this can cause the ammonia smell in athletes.

There is better info here:

So drink healthy water and eat healthy carbs. In addition, I read the following articles about bubbles in the urine. Enjoy.

Hello, following up to my first post:

I measured my electrical conductivity this morning for the first time. I got a reading of 7085. In Ted's book it says that is a high rating and you either need to:

1)Drink more water

or

2)You have heavy metals.

I know I have metals. I have had them confirmed in the past by a Naturopath. I have been employed in heavy industrial work for a long time. So there's no doubt that they're there.

I chewed on 10 or so cilantro leaves last night and I definitely had some chelation symptoms. I just started doing the cilantro and trying to take it every second day because I definitely feel foggy and detox symptoms when I do.

My naturopath (can no longer afford one) in the past told me that I am dehydrated. The problem is that is I drink plenty of water. And it seems that just goes right through me resulting in a clear stream. I know I probably have an electrolyte imbalance but I have no idea how to fix it. My urine smells off every single day, and there is often alot of bubbles in it or white particles. Sometimes my urine is yellow, but once I start my fluid intake I begin to urinate fairly often. I have no other symptoms of dehydration really, I never feel thirsty, and drink plenty of fluids. I have extreme dark circles under my eyes.

I am also dealing with Candida for many years, allergies, etc

Thank you for your comments.

K, you gave a lot of info, but it's needed info, I would say you didn't give a lot of info on the condition of your gut ......you may think about taking enzymes with each meal .to improve your digestion. Any time an allergic person eats food if its not digested properly it dumps bits of raw food into the bloodstream (leaky gut) and causes all kinds of allergic reactions, serious reactions.

You are taking a few supplements, be sure and take them with food and enzymes so you absorb them .also you think you have mold, I would agree, you can eat 3 or 4 raw cloves of raw garlic to start the healing (every day) put some vinegar and oil dressing and lemon juice on your garlic and let them set for a half hour and then chew them, the chewing releases the healing chemicals in garlic, this will kill off mold and heal your stomach .they are also natural antibiotics ( studies have shown more effective than pharma antibiotics)( I have links but they are long)be sure and take a enzyme .this will help your urine to.you mentioned "NAC" .i want you to know that "in some people" NAC causes pulmonary hypertension. Meaning that after say 15 to 30 minutes after taking NAC it raises your heart rate and a person may get breathless.

I bring it up because it happened to me, I have some kidney damage which has caused me to be very sensitive to allergins, when I started taking NAC (every one claims it very safe) with-in an hour I was having a pounding heart beat and becoming short of breath. I started doing research on all that I was taking and found a article by a doctor that said "in some people, NAC causes pulminary hypertension........there it was ....my symptoms...

It took me months to find this. And she was the only one that said this. So in some people, is the key word. Good luck in your search for good health. If you want the links to the garlic info, post here and I will post the links. BTW, as soon as I stopped taking the NAC my symptoms went away.
