Broken Humerus Bone

Posted By Mary (Arcadia, Ca) on 02/20/2024

Hello Earth Clinic,

I am 73 years old and in bad shape. I mainly sit a lot. A few days ago I went and bought several gallons of PH balanced water as I usually do. When coming in from outside I was wearing opened toed shoes. Had a gallon in each hand and my sandals got caught on a metal strip on the floor. I started to fall and tried to stop it. I went down with a vengence I think I partally fell on the glass bottles first. My face hit very hard and my glasses got stuck on the bridge of my nose. I was also getting cramps on both legs at the same time. I hit so hard I had broken my humerus bone! Believe me it was not funny. When I got home from the hospital, I ate 2 tsps of comfrey. Then took 1 advil 200 mg. Please say a prayer for me. I am praying nothing comes up later. The pain is intense.

Blessings to all,

Mary Martinez

Wow, Mary, that sounds really bad! I'm sorry it happened to you.

Now you have to deal with the pain and the time it will take the bone to heal. Just a thought that you can discuss with your doctor, melatonin lotion may be quite useful because it can not only relieve pain, but melatonin has shown itself to help bones heal faster as discussed here in this review of multiple studies :

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7979260/

Here is a relevant quote :

' Melatonin exerts numerous physiological effects, including inducing anti-inflammatory and antioxidative functions, resetting circadian rhythms and promoting wound healing and tissue regeneration. Melatonin also participates in the health management of bone and cartilage. In the present review, the potential roles of melatonin in the pathogenesis and progression of bone injury, osteoporosis, OA and periodontitis are summarized. Furthermore, the high efficiency and diversity of the physiological regulatory effects of melatonin are highlighted and the potential benefits of the use of melatonin for the clinical prevention and treatment of bone-related diseases are discussed.'

Here is a link that explains how my friends made melatonin lotion at home :

Thank you so much, Art. Thank God I bought a large bag of powdered Melatonin in case of pain.

When my daughter shattered her baby toe, after surgery, I made a comfrey poultice every day. The surgeon said she'd never seen an injury heal so fast.Hope this helps.

Perfect, Mary and you got that bag just in time! Mary, if your doctor approves, please start at one application sparingly applied in the early evening and increase to two applications sparingly applied per day, only if needed.
