Dear Darlene, Here are some ideas for reducing stress and relaxing:

  1. Take walks. Fresh air and excercise are really good for you.
  2. Chamomile Tea. Helpful for getting to sleep, or relaxing anytime. Sleepytime tea tastes good, too and has lots of chamomile.
  3. Blackstrap Molasses. 1 T. a day. plain or in a glass of milk. All of those nutrients, especially the magnesium are good for you and for calming you.
  4. Eat well. If you feel well, you will have less stress.
  5. Do something for someone else. Make a meal for someone, visit someone in a nursing home, make cookies for someone, etc. Doing this always helps me as it changes my focus from me to someone else and I forget about my stress for a while.
  6. Make peace with people in your life with whom you have tension. Ask forgiveness from those you have wronged and forgive those who have wronged you. Being angry at anyone who wrongs you ends up poisoning you. (When you forgive someone, you set the prisoner free, then you realize the prisoner was yourself. )
  7. Avoid TV, especially the news. Very depressing. While it seems like vegging in front of the TV would relieve stress, it really doesn't. Do something productive instead.
  8. Do something creative that you enjoy. Crochet, knit, sew, paint a room. Learn to make soap or something.
  9. Read or watch things that are funny. Laughter really is good medicine!
  10. Cats. Nice cats are very relaxing. Petting one that is in your lap is really soothing to you both! :)
  11. Read good stuff that you enjoy. (Nothing stressful! ) I like the Psalms for stress.
  12. Spend time with encouraging people if you know some. :) Or funny people. :)

Read around some on earth clinic. You might see some symptoms you have for which you inability to relax are the cause and then you can address the cause of your stress. (Maybe hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, insomnia, etc.)

Hope you find something that helps!
